tweaker Posted June 24, 2025 Posted June 24, 2025 (edited) Inept bowler. 371 should have been defended on last day of test. Jadeja was utter disappointment. He never looked like taking wickets. Siraj should be dropped for his bowling. Prasiddh is very average and never looked threatening. Edited June 24, 2025 by tweaker
Ultimate_Game Posted June 24, 2025 Posted June 24, 2025 Get Iyer as captain else we're gonna be a lower table team soon

sage Posted June 24, 2025 Posted June 24, 2025 Even if the bowling is crap you can’t lose a test match if you’ve been 300-3 in both innings. It’s inexcusable express bowling and BacktoCricaddict 2

It's more than clear that Iyer is the one who makes teams better. Gill will never be able to make the teams better the way Iyer does. It's not about batting, it's about who's the better leader and Iyer trumps everyone else by a distance. And if we can have likes of Patidar, Karun Nair, Paddikkal in the Test team, we can always make way for Iyer who's a better option than the ones tried so far. express bowling and Lord 2
aditya19 Posted June 24, 2025 Posted June 24, 2025 Bowlers obviously. We should have looked at SL bowling. Plus they all bat like #11
Sooda Posted June 24, 2025 Posted June 24, 2025 We hold our catches and we win that test match nevada 1
vvvslaxman Posted June 24, 2025 Posted June 24, 2025 (edited) Never seen such an abysmal tail ever from an Indian team Edited June 24, 2025 by vvvslaxman
The Realist Posted June 24, 2025 Posted June 24, 2025 The Guardian: "A game when their catching has been unreliable, their fielding often poor, their captaincy unremarkable, their batting a mix of feast, famine and failure – five centuries, six ducks, two catastrophic collapses – and their fighting spirit prone to sudden disappearance. On the second morning, 430 for three at one stage, they luxuriated, and on the fifth they languished. This has been a humbling defeat and an embarrassing one." Sums it up well. BCCISelector Posted June 24, 2025 Posted June 24, 2025 (edited) Is Thakur really an allrounder? He averages 17 with the bat. That's just 4 runs more than Nathan Lyon. Yes, he has scored those occasional 50s in the past when the team least expected it. But apart from those 3-4 knocks, every time you needed him to hang around, he has always got out for single digits by batting like a proper tailender. Might as well play a specialist wicket-taking bowler in his place, given how ineffective our 2nd and 3rd pacers have been. Akash Deep and Harshit Rana can hold a bat and do a far better job with the ball. Anshul Kamboj also made a 50 against England Lions. coffee_rules Posted June 24, 2025 Posted June 24, 2025 Should be Multi-choice. All 3 were responsible
daryl1985 Posted June 24, 2025 Posted June 24, 2025 Batting but many things wrong. - India have 3 number 11's, Krishna getting out to a slog when Jadeja at the other end was criminal. - The two new batters were not good enough and got out to stupid shots. - Gill batted well in the 1st innings but felt like he triggered the collapse by needlessly trying to slog when he should have been holding up an end and accumulating and should have left the slogging to Pant. - Thakur selection cannot be explained. Captain obviously has no faith in him given how long it took him to get a bowl in the 1st innings and how little he bowled. Rohit also not a fan of him in CWC23. Selecting any of NKR, Washy, Harshit or Kuldeep would have made more sense. - Kohli missed hugely in the field, team had no energy and looked quite defeatist. - Dropped too many catches. - Jadeja waiting too long before bowling into the rough, seemed scared of Duckett scoring quickly. - Really bizarre bowling choices when India were back in the game - waited too long to bring back Siraj after Shardul's 2 wickets. - Thakur bowled too much late on (almost like Gill was telling the selectors, this is your guy, let him try to win us the test). nevada Posted June 25, 2025 Posted June 25, 2025 Complacency and premature jubilation. 400 in the first innings is a good start, NOT a guarantee against losing the game! India left atleast 50-60 more runs on the table in the first innings. In the second, Indian commies were going gaga about India being well ahead in the game, England being out of it and whatnot. How can you say that when England nearly matched our total, that too at a very brisk pace? The Indian team also had this same attitude, thinking that they just have to show up to bowl and England will fold like a cheap tent.
jf1gp_1 Posted June 25, 2025 Posted June 25, 2025 This is the problem with Indian fans. IPL success doesnt translate to overseas test success. Only 4 batsmen scored. Rest of the team was a disaster with bat. Minus Bumrah in first innings entire bowling line up looked toothless. If a young Indian batting lineup scores over 800 in england then one can imagine pitch condition. We expect these boys to be world beaters from day 1. England at home is one of the most difficult team to beat and we expected them to roll over.
rkt.india Posted June 25, 2025 Posted June 25, 2025 (edited) We scored 364 in second innings which is not a good score anywhere on a flat pitch. Apart from Rahul and Pant, all batters failed in the second dig. Edited June 25, 2025 by rkt.india
