In Bollywood, Pran has made an imprint by playing characters that are difficult to forget. Many films have become memorable due to his performances. What is notable with Pran is that his characters appear versatile where you do not feel as if he is playing the same character (or himself) in every film.

Below is a list of his selected performances:

Madhumati (1958)
Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai (1960)
Half Ticket (1962)

Phir Wohi Dil Laya Hoon (1963)

Kashmir ki Kali (1964)

Gumnaam (1965)

Upkar (1967)

Ram aur Shyam (1967)

Brahmchari (1968)

Johnny Mera Naam (1970)

Zanjeer (1973)

Don (1978)

Karz (1980)

And of course there are many more roles. Which ones are your favorites?

Zanjeer with Amitabh was superb. The dialogue delivery was awesome. Especailly the conversation when he goes to Amitabh Bacchan's house and Jaya is present. The song Yaari hai Imaan was his best.

As great as Pran was in the movie, I’m going to nitpick.

So most Pashtuns in India are Deobandis in their school of jurisprudence. The red colour to hair due to Henna is mainly a Barelvi thing.

It’s just odd that Pran’s character was from the Barelvi Fiqra though it wasn’t explicitly mentioned.

I swear he looked like Guru Dutt Saheb

Pran is playing the piano.

Shammi Kapoor is playing the harmonica in the start of the song.

What about upkaar and purab aur paschim, also kaalia

Pran wore really thick glasses in Purab aur Paschim. Took all the attention away from his acting.
