They couldn't win a home series against a first time captain like Gill and novices like Sai, Kamboj, Nair, Prasidh

Bazball :fear1:

he no longer gets to be named with those people. He contributed to this win :nice:

What did Bazball do in India or even Pak. Got rolled over moment pattas were removed

I was initially a fan of Bazball but this series has exposed its hollowness.

Still would take bazball over  strokless scratching and prodding :)

bowlers did it for us not batsmen

Imagine India not drawing the last by batting for 143 overs. Fluking a few top edged fours is way easier than surviving for 143 overs after 0/2

Yes 100%.  Why would I watch Jamie Smith when we have abhishek, Samson in T20. For tests i prefer proper technician. Not slogger with fugly stance like he is going to take a dump

Jamie Smith is not a slogger. He is the next Joe root and yes he has more charisma in his pinky finger with batting talent then the stroileless plodders we have.

in the end Jaiswal, akashdeep and a rare slogging knock when all was over by Sundar helped us to win with bowling.

scratchy knocks are useless

For making test cricket watchable.

love the low scoring bowling friendly thrillers or bazball style but in 2025, old school 1920 test cricket should be outlawed

In the age of T20 can’t bear watching tuk tuks or aura less batting.

I disagree, in test cricket you can win/lose in many different ways.

In tests there is value in playing yourself in and wearing the opposition down.

If you can score big and score quickly which England can do, it may be the best way to win.

However, if you can't blow the opposition batting line-up away then scoring fast can be a disadvantage.

By the end of the series  i think that England were the more tired and drained team.

Stokes broke down, Jamie Smith looked exhausted in the field, Carse lost any venom in his bowling, Archer faded badly.  The main reason for this was India kept them in the field for long spells, England bowled almost 250 overs more than India over the 5 tests.

Jamie Smith's aukat was exposed in the back end of the series. Couldn't earn a draw. Couldn't close out the game, Couldn't read sundar even on a wicket that didn't help spinner. He looked like a tailender

Bazball is what brought them back into the test.Brook is great talent. He and Duckett if they keep playing like this will win more matches than they will lose.

It was brilliant batting by them. When was the last time any Indian team chased 370 plus with this authority on a spicy wicket too.

They will always give chances to bowlers but batting without fear of failure will give them more good days than bad.

Anti Bazball batting led to their downfall today.Jamie Smith was not himself in this test.

I am not a fan of Brandon Mccallum, he is very overrated coach but England do have some excellent batsmen. He has given them a template, what has Gambhir done as coach.

How about chasing 300 + multiple times though , whilst we can't even get to 200

We never had to chase 300 in the first place at home till last year

They bat with lot of freedom than Indian batsman have done in last decade plus. Only thing which compares to them in fourth innings is Sehwag's innings in Chennai to match their tempo and aggression.

Both  their openers have lot of holes in their technique but as a pair they already have lot of success. The speed at which they score has unnerved best bowlers too.
