Sooda Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 (edited) Take initiative, throw bowlers off their lengths, lbw out of equation do big extent because batsmen are walking down to bowlers. Not waiting for jaffas Okay, one major proviso is the height and bounce of, and fuller length maybe that English bowlers bowl But our bats have shown in other formats, they are capable Edited August 1, 2025 by Sooda
Chakdephatte Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 (edited) It's true that everyone can't do that. Even in the English team, only Brook and Duckett consistently do that. Crawley, Stokes, Pope average in the 30s and Root acts as the consolidator. India can try it against weaker sides at start. Jaiswal and Pant are good bazballers. But still the majority of batsmen KL, Jadeja, Washi, or even contenders like Sai, Padikkal, Jurel are not made for bazball style. Probably something like- Jaiswal Mhatre Karun Gill (Consolidator) Pant Jadeja (Anchor) Nitish 5 strokemakers and two anchors. But we don't have replacements if one gets injured. The point is even Root and Pope who are more orthodox are more stroke makers than most Indian batsmen. also Karun for all his mediocrity and flaws is not a tuk tuk, he plays shots in his zone. He is not a stroke less wonder. even the lower order has boring tuk tuks.
Number Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 Because by batting like this Crawley's average is 30. If any Indian batsman had such poor returns people will stone his house. Chaos, Lord and singhvivek141 3
putrevus Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 Nonsense , they have tolerated Rahul's batting avg of 33 for a decade. Chaos, Stan AF and sage 3
rollingstoned Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 Did you not see the way we defeated Bang in one of the tests here last year? Or when we batted at a faster rate than England in the whole series last year in India? vvvslaxman 1
Adamant Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 Yeah right, if this method was so successful England would have qualified for WTC or even won one ashes in home conditions let alone away. AuxiliA, Lord and Chakdephatte 2 1
vvvslaxman Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 We scored 280 runs in 34 overs against Bangladesh. Come on guys we do that. But you cannot do this in every conditions and every opposition. Many of the current players are on their first tour to England Karun Nair first tour Jaiswal first tour Sai first series Jurel first tour Not even steve smith batted like this when Crawley was pummelling Australian bowling with his 189.

THey don't have good defense. That is the team philosophy. Failure will be forgiven within the set up. There was so much criticism about Crawley after first 3 tests. THey persisted with him . WIll Indian team back players who take risks and get out. Our fans will go after the family members of players. We have to be realistic. AuxiliA and rollingstoned 2

If you have solid defense and you can bat all day you prefer that. English players don't have good defense. That is why they failed to survive even for 103 overs against a bumrahless attack. THey were forced to survive because task was too big.

Nobody got more chances than Rahul for his meagre returns.Rahul Dravid made his mission to stick his guy any way possible in all formats. Crawley only got chances in one format, India has tolerated Rahul losing matches in all formats for a decade. Edited August 1, 2025 by putrevus

India's century obsession gave them a game on platter. Also two injuries to Pant really put us on the backfoot. Besides. they were not really playing bazball at Lords. THey took the slow burn approach for the best part. We effectively killed the bazball in the 2nd test. adi B 1
Nikhil_cric Posted August 2, 2025 Posted August 2, 2025 No need to copy English Top 3. Pope and Crawley are mediocre. Duckett is really good though.
