Just 3 days gap between AC final and 1st test vs WI. Wish all test specialists had been rested, including Gill. 

 

We must win all 4 tests this home season. WI nicked a test against Pak this year on a rank turner, remember Poms were clueless on similar surfaces last year. WIndians have the ability to surprise every now and then, we will have to work hard to get a clean 2-0. RSA is a solid team even in SC conditions, proper test batsmen, gun pace attack (better than NZ), great leadership, also Maharaj is better than Santner/Ajaz. Our aura is also gone now, need to build back the home fortress. 

 

Making WTC final this cycle must be a bigger aim than this stupid Asia Cup. Many years ago (perhaps pre-2016), AC was legit because Pak, SL had the quality to win WCs. Now just a useless tournament for our players to minnow bash, statpad. Also moving it outside India has given that terror state legitimacy.....spineless surrender by BCCI there.  Best case scenario will be last minute pullout by BCCI, but looking less and less likely unless we are hit with another major terror attack.

Perhaps but they have had performances in bilaterals etc. to justify a longer rope.

Do not think jitesh is the kind of batter that ppl think of, he has not come good against an intnl bowling line-up.

 

Ind does not have a decent odi wk hence kl walks-in as wk batter. no 1 challenging his spot

 

thats why adding players like gill who are not best suited for t20is creates other problems

Jitesh most likely to fail don't think he is a international quality player just like rcb captain

Neither of samson ,Gill and Tilak can play at no. 5

But Iyer can Specially with gud champions trophy in those pitches.

 

So this selection disturbs the combination.

 

So now we have to choose best from the worst.

So Gill opens, tilak 3 and sanju 5.

 For sure Sanju better batsman but Jitesh is way way better than Sanju as a keeper.

He was ignored for Tests as well over Karun Nair even though he did well in domestic. And he was picked for CT accidentally due to injury. Now guys like Dube, Gill are preferred over him even though Iyer had a very high strike rate this season. So he is being systematically sidelined from all formats.

Mentioned that earlier that batter batting down the order in t20s will fail more than they will succeed, but not convinced that Jitesh is intnl quality hitter
