The only criticism of Gill I am seeing of late is his inclusion in T20I setup that too as VC, criticism/skepticism which has strong reasoning.

Why not let him be his own man? What is with this mollycoddling?

GG plays favoritism card so openly Harshit Rana is another case study. Never seen him use kind words for Iyer or Sarfu. Or even aknowledge Jaiswal, Pant despite them having won us so many matches. In fact as per reports he gave Pant many verbal lashings in the BGT last year and was about to drop him.

He will be first one to push Gill under the buss when times comes to save his ass.Anyone who intends to do it will not have any need to give out these statements .

The job of coach is to deflect the criticisms from captain to himself. It just shows this idiot  is not a good coach.

I got to hand this one to Gambhir - in one statement he absolved himself of responsibility but nobly claimed he was willing to take the blame.

"I'll take all criticism for Shubman Gill"

The above basically means Gill is responsible, but Gambhir will take the blame as Gambhir is oh so noble.

He could have just said "I will take all the criticism" but he is one smart cookie. The "for Shubman Gill" is political genius.

I think it's a plus. We want to develop a captain not break him day one. Also Gill will benefit from having Rohit and Kohli around. When Dhoni first started he had Sachin rahul etc, Virat himself was a token captain in white ball with dhoni running the show. I think it's fine.

First Gambhir needs to kick out Gill from T20s and bring in Iyer and Jaiswal into the mix. This favoritism is holding us back. We've the players to win tourneys over the next few years and the only thing which'll hold the team back is trying to force players across formats (Gill) while more deserving players (Iyer, Jaiswal) watch from the sidelines.

Hopefully we kick out Kohli and Rohit from ODIs and bring in Jaiswal, Sai and Tilak into the mix.

T20 is  the most played format. Gotya Gill will ensure Gill is part of it. Irrespective Jaiswal needs to come in

Never seen this clown defend Pant, Jaiswal, Bumrah etc. when they were under fire. Jaiswal is younger than Rana.

Jaiswal is also 23 but Harshit Rana's backlash was indeed going overboard.

Full support to GG here.  Youngsters should not be Targeted for unnecessary trolling.  Especially young fast bowlers in a country like India.

He should. Gill is forced to make excuses for GG's decisions.

Apparently, NKR has to be selected because we are developing an allrounder for overseas conditions.

And yet, Gill didn't give him a single over

He likes to make these big statements. Also said we should not play Pak after Pahalgham

IND vs WI 2nd Test: Darren Sammy invites Gautam Gambhir to talk to West Indies players after series whitewash in India

West Indies might have lost the Test series 0-2 against India but they showed incredible fight in the second innings of the second Test.

In the final Test at New Delhi, the visitors showed real spirit and forced India to bat again after being asked to follow on. Their second-innings fightback helped them stretch the game into the fifth day. India won by seven wickets, but the fight from the Caribbean side impressed many.

After the match, a special moment unfolded in the West Indies dressing room. Head coach Daren Sammy invited his Indian counterpart Gautam Gambhir to address his players and inspire them.

What followed was a passionate and honest speech from Gambhir and he urged the Caribbean players to believe in themselves and play with purpose.

Why did Daren Sammy invite Gautam Gambhir to the West Indies dressing room?

After the match, Sammy felt his young team needed to hear from someone who has lived the highs and lows of elite cricket.

He wanted Gambhir to share what it takes to build consistency and mental toughness at the top level.

“Gautam is coaching an elite side right now. I wanted my boys to listen to his experiences, the kind of mindset it takes to stay competitive and achieve success,” Sammy told his team before introducing Gambhir.

What did Gautam Gambhir tell the West Indies players?

Gambhir began by appreciating the West Indies team for their attitude and spirit on and off the field. He said it’s always a privilege to play against the Caribbean side because of their humility and grace.

He then urged the team to play with a sense of purpose. According to Gambhir, purpose matters more than passion as it keeps players going when things get tough.

He praised their second-innings fight in the Delhi Test and said that the same attitude could guide West Indies cricket forward.

Gambhir also reminded the players that cricket is a team sport and every contribution, big or small, matters.

In his closing words, Gambhir gave a powerful reminder of what West Indies cricket means to the world. "You might feel I’m just saying this just for the sake of it, but it is from the heart- World cricket needs West Indies cricket, not the other way around," he told the players.

Gambhir wanted them to know that the legacy of West Indies cricket still matters, and the next generation has the power to bring that greatness back.

Being India coach, he can't do ipl and commentary anymore.
