Common discourse that I see on X is that this film is anti Islamic because: the terrorists use Islamic slogans while committing terrorist acts.

 

My general response: if you aren’t offended by when terrorists *actually* use these slogans while killing and thereby maligning your faith, why are you upset at cinematic portrayal.

 

Its not very different from when people raged against Danny Boyle for showing ‘ ‘India in a poor light’ in Slumdog Millionaire.

 

Crossing the slums day in day out in your car doesn’t get to you. You wouldn’t acknowledge their existence. But all hell breaks loose if someone shows this in a movie!

 

It’s been around 10 days since I saw Dhurandhar. It’s not the kind of movie that sticks with you. No long lasting effect.

That said, I will watch part 2, I am curious.

I will also watch part 2 of Kalki.

Also these weren't normal Pak civilians. Except the girl and few others, everyone was a gangster, terrorist or unscrupulous politician....basically scum of society. Sanjay Dutt was also morally dubious, but he got ok treatment only.....some might say even heroic.

I never understood why this guy gets so much footage. From what I have observed, he is not a great talker as well. His fellow left liberal comrads like Akash Banerjee, Kanhaiya Kumar, Kunal Kamra etc at least can speak well. This guy is not even good in English and neither speaks convincingly in Hindi

I watched Drohkaal, and 1994 movie directed by Govind Nihalani. It is a very similar story like.Dhurundhar. The ATS Police plant and insider in the terrorist camp and he rises up the rank. The movie is more focused on the police corruption than the spy angle but the ending is very similar. The movie is very dated. It seems old style 80s movies. Om Puri and nursery Dien Shah hasacted well 

 

this movie was remade in Tamil with Kamalhassan and Arjun as Karudippunal

Drohkaal was very very good. Ashish Vidyarthi was revelation

Seeing morning 7:30 shows full in third week. Shows how hungry Indians are for good entertainment. This will break all records.

Yes, his first movie I think. Just found a movie which is dated in production value. Just imagine the budget modern makers have with all directors from the 80s like Govind. Nihlani

Might just turn out to be biggest grosser in Indiam history. There is no competition for next two weeks. 

 

Can't imagine a sweeter spot for a director. He gets 3 months to release the next. He has some time to run some edits based on audience response. 

 

1 and 2 combined will be colossaal at BO.

This movie will enhance the stature of Bollywood...

 

But on other side there are absolute masterpieces like alpha, pathaan 2, war 3 and tiger 100 waiting in wings.

 

 Bollywoods market is huge. A half decent film can gross 500 crores without loosing a  breath.

One thing I learned from this movie is people drink cold soda mixed with milk, I can't even think...
