Team India to be offered mixed-soil pitch for final against New Zealand, apparently due to pressure by team management

Lol, experimenting right before the final and can backfire as usual.

The simple solution was to not hold the final in the panauti stadium, instead of having all kind of experiments just before the final.

If this stadium takes away our second world cup trophy in an era where we are dominating so much, it's name will forever live in infamy

Too much overthinking. Unnecessary pressure on us.

Yep, whatever the reason, the stadium has got to our players minds. I hope in the future this stadium doesn't get any important matches.

Come to think of it, India lost 2016 semifinals in Mumbai, 1996 semis in Kolkatta, 2023 finals in Modi stadium.

Why is Modi stadium getting bad rap. It is sad it is affecting the team.

Indian team is things they should not be worried about and doing things which will hurt him.

Feels like engagement farming from the journo tbh.

Knows the eyeballs in the leadup to the game are more on the external factors than the game itself

Also don't forget we lost WC SF in 1987 against England in Mumbai

Indore too has black soil as far as what I know...we do it pretty well there.
Too much overthinking is going on, it's not like tennis where at Clay court the pace off the bowl will be significantly lower than Grass or Synthetic.
That's the issue of hosting in home country, we get panicked and try too much course correction.

Exactly, India beat Pakistan in the same stadium in 2023 World Cup.

Hope reverse happens this time . Losing group game but winning the finals.

They don’t have to do any manipulation, they just have trust their skills.

What I find amazing is that our local curators don't know what pitches suit us when they've been preparing pitches for ages and roll out the pitches for bilaterals which work pretty well.

But then an ICC tourney comes around and seems like curators don't know what pitch needs to be prepared! Shocking really. I blame BCCI as well. How long does it take for have a meeting with all the venue pitch curators and groundsmen and tell them what's expected of them and what type of pitches need to be prepared? I seriously believe that this step is being missed. Curators let the ICC tourney and enormity of the situation get to them and try to prepare something different. A works from BCCI and team management a few weeks before the tourney starts on the type pitches would make it easier for curators and assure them what needs to be done instead of them second-guessing. We somehow always get the simple things wrong and BCCI has to take the blame for it.

Curators work under ICC pitch expert AFAIK in iCC tourneys

Our current team is our strongest ever team and having an unbeaten run in all other stadiums over multiple tournaments.

The instances you mention, our team was not the best team around at all and was losing everywhere.
