While that was hyperbole, there was no question that your game at that time was a breath of fresh air. Innovative stroke-play, taking advantage of the entire outfield, unselfish approach, exceptional positive attitude, and a commitment to fielding well!! And who can forget *the* winning catch? You became a superstar, got to captain Team India to a WC win and reached the pinnacle of your career! And along the way, you have been very well-compensated for your skill and commitment that provided great entertainment for several years. But, time catches up with everyone. And usually, the drop is precipitous rather than gradual. It is painful to watch you struggle, just as it has been painful to watch the likes of the great Kohli struggle for years in test matches. Your positive legacy is etched forever, but you risk tarnishing it by trying to prolong your career. The time is now, after this IPL, to hang it up when the fond memories are still intact. He is past it now but memories of his successful captaincy in the T20 WC are still fresh, making it the perfect time to walk away and keep his aura intact. SKY was worse than 21 edition's Finch, because latter at least won crucial tosses in Dewbai. Aussies were smart enough to look beyond Finch after that tossiya WC, because he had lost it completely by then. Here GG wants SKY to lead us in 28 Olympics and WC, what chwtyapa is this !!!!!! Thing with SKY is he is on the wrong side of 35. His game is predicated on reflexes. Every now and then (e.g., the USA match), he might have a good innings, but it is unlikely to happen consistently.
