test fan Posted July 16 Posted July 16 The BCCI selectors have told Sharma he isn't part of their 2027 World Cup plans, the Indian Express understands, with his final ODI possibly coming on July 19 https://indianexpress.com/article/sports/cricket/rohit-sharma-retirement-last-india-england-third-odi-lords-bcci-2027-world-cup-10789964/ express bowling 1
test fan Posted July 16 Author Posted July 16 Pandey ji breaking this news and he is very close friend of Rohit Sharma. Most likely true report.
Frustrated Posted July 16 Posted July 16 Hopefully he goes. Should be good riddance. It has been a torture watching him bat, post CT2025 Final.
Gollum Posted July 16 Posted July 16 Right decision if indeed it is true. No need to tarnish such a great legacy, father time always wins. cricspirit, express bowling, Lone Wolf and 1 other 4

Gollum Posted July 16 Posted July 16 One of the greatest redemption arcs since 2013 CT. In fact even before that, in a tri-series in WI I think, where India beat SL in the final courtesy MS. Used to be a very frustrating player before that. rollingstoned and maniac 2

Has a great legacy and should leave on a high How life has changed for him around 19. Played his first T20I on 19-September, 2007 Got close to winning the WC on 19-November, 2023 Will play his last international match on 19-July, 2026

Great comeback. India lost 2 games shock defeats, had to win next 2 with bonus points to qualify for the final and then that MS magic after Herath tore through the Middle order. Gollum 1
bowl_out Posted July 16 Posted July 16 Will always be remembered for his three 200s in ODI including the highest ever individual score of 264, a record unlikely to be broken.

One of the games I remember where the SL openers singlehandedly crushed us. I think Tharanga was one of them. Lone Wolf 1
Bigg Brother Posted July 16 Posted July 16 There was similar news about Dhoni when we toured there in 2018. Similar headlines- him retiring after 3rd ODI when he played embarrassingly slow in Lords ODI. Not only he didn't retire, he went on to play next year wc and screwed us more. maniac, TheBull, Norman and 1 other 2 2
singhvivek141 Posted July 16 Posted July 16 Believe it when I see it. Hopefully a redemption for Jaiswal. Another leftie is needed. Lord 1
