Dil Dil India Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 It keeps getting floated around that Pakistan have been the best T20 team in the world but their overall W-L ratio is padded up with minnow wins. Excluding the minnows(I.e minus associates and Zim/Bangladesh) their record stands at 0.945 and that is despite Cricinfo counting their bowl out losses to India etc as ties. http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?class=3;filter=advanced;opposition=1;opposition=2;opposition=3;opposition=4;opposition=5;opposition=6;opposition=7;opposition=8;orderby=won;template=results;type=team
Ankit_sharma03 Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 1. Their batsman are pretty mindless so they cant bat many overs, so ppl think 20 overs are best for them2. Chuckers like hafeez, ajmal had a big role in it. Afridi also chucks while bowling his faster one like a seamer sscomp32, Rasgulla, Bigg Brother and 2 others 5
Adi_91 Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 People recognize them somewhat because they are unpredictable. Nobody can claim that they are the best T20 side. In fact as @Viper pointed out, record isn't anything great.

Adi_91 Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 I am pointing out facts there may be you should post facts supporting your point.. No point wasting forum space by saying what ever makes us feel better huhThey have the "Self Proclaimed Excellency" Award syndrome. sscomp32, Rasgulla, Bigg Brother and 1 other 4
Shivaji bhonsle Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 No, this t 20 format suits their brand of cricket. Hence, they believe they play their best in t 20s. But it doesn't mean they are the best.

vvvslaxman Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Any stat on how much they won with the chucker? I think this myth is due to their okayish T20 outings in world T20 reasonably consistently. India on the other hand won once Then got blown away in the next 2 editions.
Bigg Brother Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Lol they are not best team in t20s...They have played more t20s than others so obviously no.win should be more than orther teams...And many of the matches they won chucker bowling at death. Adi_91 and express bowling 2
JaFanatic Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 I have never seen or heard anyone saying that, maybe if not for the fixing scandal their record would have been better. But that was inevitable isn't ?

G_B_ Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 (edited) pakistan have performed in most WC's barring 2014. Win loss ratio is a meaningless statistic in LOI. Teams experiment and teams chop and chance in anticipation to the WC. So WC records need to be judged. The current side are probably not the best. But there was a time from 2008-2011 when they had a fully firing Gul and Misbah. I would say they were at their peak then. Sometimes a loss is better at helping you improve than a win. vvvslaxman Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 True bilateral T20 matches are meaningless. Teams use it just to do some experiment . Up until this series it was largely used to pick inform players for one day series that was about to follow.

T20 is tailor made for someone like Afridi and chota akmal.... Even 20(11) kind of innings can have an impact.also afridi is a decent loi bowler G_B_ 1
G_B_ Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 well i think Pak have the spin needed to make an impact in t20 world cup.
adi B Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Back when they had chuckmal, chuckfeez and gul ,they were very potent tbh and reached some consecutive wt20 sf ,but after chuckmal ban they have lost their bowling soul I believe.Pakistan should still be a force in the wt20 this time ,should thrash Australia and beat nzl

Dil Dil India Posted February 4, 2016 Author Posted February 4, 2016 Whatever makes you guys feel better A lot of things make us feel better but that is not the topic for discussion here. How about you address what is being said with facts rather than irrelevantly posting stuff that only serves to waste forum space? We are not the guys who feel better and pray that Amla scores against us so that his average isn't disturbed. Adi_91, Mosher and Bigg Brother 3
