Tests no1 is earned in the longest format with almost a year's results mattering.
Ankit_sharma03 Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 As a kid watching cricket from late 90s i always use to wonder what after tendulkar, dravid, ganguly, sehwag, kumble n al Seeing this young side at no.1 n watching the brand of selfless cricket they r playing is terrific. Kohli as a batsman could have asked for belters at home to improve his avg but the captain inside him wants to win rather personal milestone Rahane paying for team rather personal record Pujara improved his approach towards positive batting rather taking on ego Gambhir fighting it out despite injury Perfomance of lower order Our fast bowler posing a threat not only our spinners Work on fitness aspect going on behind the scenes These are terrific signs in a team jalebi_bhai, tweaker, Vilander and 6 others 9

Thoroughly deserving. New guy 1
BeautifulGame Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 WC is won in a span of one month via a lot of knockouts ... the real no1 team is not likely to win every time. Tests no1 is earned in the longest format with almost a year's results mattering. It can also be won without beating the best teams away from home . This is basically for the most consistent team not the best team in reality . World cup (or Olympic Gold)is the pinnacle in almost any team sport .It's what excites fans .It isn't even comparable. For ex I would take winning the series over receiving this test mace any day .If u are a really test fan winning the test series in Australia or England matter and excites a lot .This is a just decent achievement that we can be proud of that's all.But pinnacle of cricket ? Not in a million years . TheWall, WC2011INDIA and velu 2 1

Not in a million years . Yes WC is important but IMO, WC with knockouts reduces the chances of seeing the best team become champion and is based on only 3 matches (QF,SF and Finals) since most best teams have it almost certain to qualify. Hence for me test No1 is more important status to hold compared to defending WC champions. It may also be because I see Test as a much important format than ODI. Vilander 1
WC2011INDIA Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 The question is when will Virat become ODI/T20 captain? Is he hungry for another WC and add a T20 win under his belt? tweaker 1

BeautifulGame Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 He should be hungry for wc.. last time i checked every icc tour we won he did nothing in those from 2011 or 2013 He was our top scorer in CT final Ankit_sharma03 1

He along with few others need to stepup in ICC tournaments. World t20 2016 was a good chance, but most batsmen barring him and to some extent dhoni failed miserably when needed. New guy 1

This team has the makings of a very good test team. Just want to see India doing well abroad too. Edited October 11, 2016 by Mosher tweaker 1
putrevus Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 India would have won in SA and NZ if they had some luck and better captaincy. Dhoni and kallis proved the stumbling blocks in SA and Dhoni again proved stumbling block in in NZ. tweaker 1

Even the Champions League needs only four ties to win the trophy.
