England test team is a pussy?

This team is very defensive. England could have pushed for a win in the first test by declaring little early. They had a golden opportunity to put India on a back-foot

This team seems to believe " First lets be on the safe side before we enforce a win"

Even in the second test, right from word go, they came to save the match. Well, either ways they could not have saved the match but atleast they had a chance, if they would have been little more aggressive (if not attacking but atleast putting the bad balls away).

A captain with old fashion thinking is not helping the team...I think Stokes will make this team aggressive and also he reflects new age England attitude...He has a bit of kohli in him.....he is on your face all the time and backs it up with his fielding, batting and bowling....(BTW, he is under-used as a bowler- he can swing the ball, seam the ball and also reverse swing)

Cook improved a lot as him and Dhoni were competing for the "who's the bigger idiot" prize in the last series in 2014. I think England is the best test team (than saffers and us) in the world now. They had opener problem and they solved it. Now duckett needs to be replaced. Spinners need more experience.

Yet clowns like were Naseer Hussain criticizing the captaincy of Kohli .It was Cook who looks to be safety first then win later they had everything going for them last test and yet they never tried to force the result.Someone needs to tell these clowns like Hussain to talk about why was Cook having deep point fielder with 530 plus score for whole innings.

This tactical field placing and changing bowlers or having fancy field settings of two  close in fielders is not aggressive captaincy. It is about mindset of winning at any cost which Kohli has much more than any English captain.

why do they need so many bowlers....they are not sure which bowler is good.....such a sad state to be in......they can easily replace one bowler with a proper batsmen.....

That is problem with having  bits and pieces allrounders in the team. You think you have plenty and yet you do not have anything in reality.

India had plenty of them in 80s Kapil ,Binny, Shastri and in 90s Manoj Prabhakar but it was when India had weakest test teams. Except Kapil Dev who could walk into team as bowler alone, none of the others could make the team either as a batsman or bowler.

2012 England team was lot stronger because they had two spinners who may not have the same batting talents as Ali or Rashid but they had the ability to run thru strong Indian batting lineups.

So true. 2012 England had better spinners than us and they kept out bowling Indian spinners on all the pitches (Monty did not play Ahd test that we won)

How does the best test team lose a test  match against Bangladesh and draw a series in their own country against a team ( Pakistan ) which does not do well outside Asia  ?

They're ok. This team has nothing on the likes of the 2012 Eng team that toured India though. That team thoroughly exposed MSD's Test captaincy. Cook, KP, Bell, Trott, Swann and Jimmy...a very good spine.

If they are a pussy, I wonder what you would call our team under Dhoni. They are currently the best team when it comes to overseas performance. Show some respect.

being pussy doesnt mean they are bad team......they are a good team but defensive attitude....In the other words...."if australian team had the same talent, they could have ripped the opposition apart"

Quite true. But, I think they have done better in Ind so far than NZ and SA. Of course, the pitches have been on the flatter side but I think that their pacers are very solid even on Indian dry pitches (Broad, Anderson, Woakes).
