The 10 terrorists may have been killed but the masterminds like Hafeez Saeed,Zakir Ur Rehman Lakhvi,Zarrar Shah etc live freely in Pakistan with full support of Pakistan govt. We must not forget this and must never forgive the perpetrators.We must make sure this never happens again.Every step in our dealings with Pakistan must be taken keeping in mind what they have done. Anyone who have ever visited Mumbai Central Railway station would know how rundown this place is. Has there been any improvement since the attack.

This government is getting us prepared from outside but once terrorists are in, there is no preparedness. I can imagine how Indians must have sacrificed their lives during freedom struggle. It can't get worse than that and they complain about being a victim of somebody else's war. They can still get the sympathy of some 'Aman Ki Ashiqs' in India. Let's hope that the improvements in security at a local level have improved - I remember reading few years ago that the big increase in budget for Mumbai police led to some of the funds used for swankier offices and posh cars for the top cops. There should be in-depth media coverage on what the police have done to improve their responses if something similar happens again. Do the local cops have bulletproof jackets? Better weapons and training? Do they conduct practice drills in responding to an attack with multiple locations and hostage situations at the same time? Have they improved their command-control, which completely collapsed in 2008? IIRC NYPD did a post-mortem study to figure out how they would have responded - and their study concluded that with 3 or more locations targeted simultaneously, they would have fallen short as well. Difference is, since then, they have worked on the problem and taken steps to address. Have Mumbai Police done this? coffee_rules 1

It is a terminus for local trains and lines for out station trains too. In many ways, it the first thing that migrants to Mumbai see. Kind of like our statue of Liberty. I do see a lot of Police presence, cameras and metal detectors etc. Its been ages since I've traveled by a local, so I do no know how it is inside the station. mishra 1
