Problems with having too many " old " players in the team

Yes but at least through their failures they can gain experience and improve . Maybe improve extraordinary amounts . 

 

Playing oldies in meaningkess t20 friendlies which they also suck at has no flip side 

 

these oldies being selected is defo zonal picks keeping the zonal godfathers happy who favour their old legends

Three players in the side are playing to keep their places, playing defensive, whereas we need young players who are unafraid, maybe India can afford one or max of two, Dhoni has to go from T20 side but who will bell the cat, out of Raina ,Yuvi one can stay, hopefully next game we will see changes also, Jadhav is ideal for T20 n Sarfaraz is great.

Indian cricket in T20 and ODI needs to completely collapse in order for the selection committee to abandon their stupid mentality of selecting players well passed their due date for peak performance.

 

Players like Dhoni, Yuvraj, Raina, Nehra will always occasionally produce the odd brilliant performance however over the long run their will be more failures than winning matches for India.

What you guys dont understand is that these players are all about the multi million dollar endorsements they receive from playing International cricket.

 

They will always want to play any format as there is so much money involved.

There is a set pattern on which players are selected. Normally such a player is selected to replace a injured player, that the injured player can walk in the team when he is fit.

 

Suresh Raina was selected in the odi team,but he got injured & Jadhav grabbed this oppurtunity.Nair also made the life of selector difficult by scoring a 300 in his last test.

 

They are doing almost everything possible to keep Kuldeep,Iyer,Hooda,Nathu out of the squad as long as possible. They know if given a chance this player will cement their place in the squad & it will be difficult for Ishant,Shikhar,Yuvraj,Raina to lurk around the team squad.

As long as these old farts are available, Kohli is forced to choose them. Its up to selectors to dump out these garbages, but they are too clueless to do it. Our LOI Cricket is *ed up with these buffaloes running the show.

I keep hearing this about Dhawan , but he was dropped after just two failures despite averaging 50+ in his last ODI series that too in Australia.

If there are such great players why aren't they performing in IPL ?

Young players failing is a poor argument. Kohli didn't become Kohli. He failed at the start and was dropped. Some youngsters will succeed immediately, some will take time.

There is nothing wrong with having "old" players in the team. Thats just being prejudice. Which is ironic given India's history of discriminating people based on caste.

 

What is wrong is having under performing old players in the team.
