Deepak Hooda, the finisher India needs.

Deepak Hooda just hit a 49 ball Hundred batting for Baroda against Gujarat in the on going Domestic 2020 tournament Syed Mushtaq Al Trophy.

 

He came in at first down after an early wicket fall and then with Vishnu Solanki, formed a good p'ship and both kept the runrate up. 

This is brilliant and timely. Hopefully he takes this form into A games and then in IPL and we might then even see him in the Champions Trophy squad.

 

 

We need to try this guy fast in 50 overs and see how he does. Give this guy the run.

Not really. He was in the warm ups against England. 

 

So atleast will retain his place in the List A if we play any. He seriously needs a good IPL this year.

Hooda hit 49 of 26 today. West Zone were in tatters before he came and hit 49 to take the team's total to 160. At one time they looked like getting bowled out for 105 or something.

 

This guy should be called to national team now.

Will be interesting to see how he goes against overseas bowlers this IPL. Although domestic t20 doesn't necessarily give you an exact picture of how one will fare in ODIs.

Will most likely fail in his first few outings but that shouldn't be harm. Most good players eventually take time but find their way up once they have played few games.

 

We need to get him sooner than later.

Really hoping that Hooda clicks this year in IPL. A good IPL is only what will earn him a slot in Indian ODI team permanently for a good couple of series. He can solve our problem of number 5. He can be the finisher which India is looking.

He should be in the T20i squad for Sri Lanka. That series should be used as a platform for young players and rest the main players ie. Kohli, Dhoni (Ikr), Dhawan. Rohit can captain the side and get some runs because he's not going anywhere so he better returns to form.
