sarcastic
India are desperate to get wickets here and they need to get England all out before end of 3rd day with England having a maximum lead of 180. That is at most 50 more runs and no more. Then Indian batsmen including Rahul, Pujara, Kohli and Rahane have to bat out of their skins to get a good score like 300-350 runs in second innings. If England are made to chase 150+ in their fourth innings, they will go for it and will NOT settle for a draw. It will be a box-office if above scenario works out and Indian bowlers may get the English men out for a paltry 100+ and win this test match. UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment

chewy
IMPOSSIBLE three innings completed, bar Kohli none of the batting specialists have managed to survive 50 balls and unlikely to change 2nd innings UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment

Rightarmfast
If we score anything less than 500 in the 2nd innings, I will be disappointed. beetle and UrmiSinhaRay 1 1 Link to comment
JourneyMan
Do they have the potential and ability? Yes. Will they? Based on current form, probably not. In reality there has only been decent partnership in this series so far and we are watching it right now. England havent been great, india have been below par. As an individual, kohli had two decent innings in Edgbaston. Both sides can bat much better, but whether they have the concentration, form and nerve to do so is another matter. I am still optimistic that some of our top orders batters will put in a good performance or two, but Lords has now become a case of doing the rain dance and hoping for a lucky escape. Gollum
Man don't get your hopes up. These things are easier on pen and paper but difficult to execute. If you look at the history of the game may be you will find <5 such instances of comebacks, so theoretically possible but highly unlikely. Our best hope is 1 complete day wash out and survival for 90+ overs...that is possible but players have to show real character. UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment

Deleted_User_1
What are you smoking? Innings defeat written all over this. Actually England should declare now and the match would be over today. Edited August 11, 2018 by dandaroy Rightarmfast and UrmiSinhaRay 1 1 Link to comment
