Some might even suggest that thoughts of playing a second spinner might have crept into India's minds after Joe Root revealed that Moeen Ali would play the fourth Test and share spin duties with Adil Rashid. Moeen, however, is taking the place of a specialist batsman, Ollie Pope, and England view his offspin as a bonus, given the many and varied bowling options they already possess. http://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/24514030/are-india-thinking-playing-r-ashwin-ravindra-jadeja-ageas-bowl I hope we don't play just 2 specialist pacers again. England want us to fall into this trap by playing Moeen. Weather has been pretty cold, pitch will never dry so one spinner will be more than enough. Link to comment

YCCC
A shaky top 4, too many all rounders, 2 spinners which is never a good idea for an England side especially at home. Pope is unlucky to be dropped. By all means bring Ali back but in place of Rashid and move Pope down to 5 Forever Indian and UrmiSinhaRay 1 1 Link to comment

paddles
YCCC All 3 Nair, Shaw and Vihari will be in the oval test or two from above list if, India loose series at rose bowl.(4) Kohli most un-likely to drops Rahul after he took 7 catches in previous test.(Cook 60 in 5 innings, so far) If you hits 30/40 for BCCI you are good for next 5 tests.Rahul most likely to open with dhawan on Oct 04-08,'18 First test in India vs westindies Link to comment
Adi BB
Hopefully ashwin is match fit ,with 7 lefties ashwins and ishant will be kicking their lips .England have played tight into India's hand by weakening their batting but their bowling is damn strong. Just bat first UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment
paddles
India can beat them only if we remove their first 4 cheaply in both innings -- Which will not happen Insidious and UrmiSinhaRay 2 Link to comment
paddles
If Virat hits 24th test 100 he will break record of Sehwag Peterson Langer S.Smith Miandad All above hits 23 test career century. Anderson need 7 more wickets to break,McGrath's 561 test wickets.I do not think any fast bowler ever break record of Anderson and McGrath in next 100 years or more from present test playing countries Ishan 249 w Broad 427 w Steyn 421w Southee 220w Boult 215 w Broad and Steyn will not stays longer. Tridibans_16
India needs to see off the first session by not losing more than 2 wickets. If we manage to do that, fair chance that this fragile English lineup will struggle against scoreboard pressure. But again, this all will be moot if we lose the toss.... again (50% chance) :( Edited August 30, 2018 by Tridibans_16 UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment

Nikhil_cric
Playing 2 spinners us a rubbish decision away unless it's in Asia. You play 3 fast bowlers and a seam bowling all-rounder if possible. Haven't they learnt from Lords? Link to comment

Woakes is a much better bowler than Curran and him out is a big blow to England. The latter only swings it one way (inswing) and apart from the 4 wickets in the first innings of the first game has done nothing special. He bowls slower and if played responsibly will pose little threat to the Indian batsman. In the first game most of his wickets were gifted by India. Curran albeit is a very positive batsman. Moeen has actually been much better with the ball than bat this county season. Apart from the double century he's been scratchy this season with the bat and continues the same so-so form to the limited over Indian series. Considering Pope has had little to offer (I think he's a tad unlucky and looked good the few balls he was there) Moeen is a nice trade. India should have a more potent bowling attack in 3 pacers and all rounders in Ashwin and Pandya. Having four quick bowlers will be vital as I expect long spells to be bowled. Spin will have little role till day 4 or 5. How many county games has he played? UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment
