What are the biggest positive from the long home test series

For me it Jadeja maturity,both as batsman & bowler

The depth in Indian cricket.

 

Jayant Yadav was the find of the England series. Nowhere to be seen in the Australia series victory.

 

Kohli carried India to win v England. India managed without him v Australia.

Umesh Yadav 'emergence as the strike bowler.Maintaing his fitness through out the series, bowling with pace, accuracy etc.

Debut of Kuldeep Yadav

Would have liked if the selector had blooded a replacement for Ishant by selecting a young pacer ie Anikeet,Ankit etc

Biggest gain was our resilience. We were tested mentally to our very core and we came out victorious (we played some really bad/tired cricket but won this series by digging in deep and giving it all we got).

 

Development of Umesh and Jaddu.

 

Consistency of Rahul.

 

Clutchness of Saha the batsman.

 

Potential of Kuldeep.

 

Our batting lineup as a whole still needs to be consistent though. It really isn't for now.

The Resilience and emergence of umesh ,Rahul and jaddu, umesh was doing the job of himself and Shami both, mark my words he will be twice the bowler from now on and inspire kids to come, I am getting emotional as I type this, but finally it's good to Diss what we have been receiving from opponents.

Umesh is the single biggest positive

Biggest positive is that even if for a short while, Indian fans would start respecting fast bowlers in Indian conditions. Spinners don't just win the test or will only win the test in India. Fast bowlers are there to contribute and they contributed a lot this season when our spinners needed support.

Rahul showing consistency as an opener we are set if we can find a better opener than Vijay.

Played as a team. Everyone contributed. For all the disappointment, Ashwin still picked 21key wickets (second highest)  only 4 behind Jadeja.

Umesh, Jaddu and Rahul. Actually the whole team has played really really well. Lot of positives to look at. Every player has contributed towards the wins.

We have been able to win with  Kohli injured, Shami missing and Ashwin not fully fit.

Umesh- finally come of age

Jadeja- A truly world class bowler and his batting has started to finally fall in place

Most importantly our grit, ruthlessness and bloody mindedness. eg Ashwin played despite injury, earlier Bhajji used to run away from the battlefield after getting smacked.

Umesh, Rahul And Jadeja if we are talking individually. 

 

Apart from that just the character this team has shown has been fantastic. We've lost 7 tosses against England And Australia and won 4 of those tests which quite frankly incredible considering the Indian pitches.
