Right now he needs to inspire the fans of Inidan criket team. He is not doing that.

Well, they must be Pakistanis. We Indians have been inspired ever since his first ODI hundred. What a knock that was. Epic!!!

I agree, whatever may be his shortcomings as a cricketer ,he is one of the most inspirational role models of our generation.Hard to believe his enormous growth in such a short time.

His ability to constantly evolve over the years to match better & more talented cricketers of his time should be a lesson for every upcoming uber talented cricketer.

MS Dhoni : Untold Story should have remain untold. Nothing about his career between Vizag and 2011 world cup apart from a little bit about 2007 WC, no preparation stuff, no team discussion scenes, no test cricket related episodes. Instead two love stories

M.s. Dhoni the untold story has some untold facts about that village idiot like csk match fixing fiasco, stubbornness, his trundlers love to hide his impotency in keeping, chamchagiri of mama, exposed foolish captaincy for rps 2016 etc.

First half was still better but second half very mundane for cricket fans with known facts rehashed on screen. The movie in terms of surprises/revealing something new was as much a disappointment as Sachin's autobiography.

But this was *not* meant to be a documentary about his cricketing career. Most people who follow cricket already know what has happened between 2011 WC and now and how Dhoni lead us to victory in CT in between. Showing actual cricket wouldn't keep interest in the movie for long. It had to have anecdotes of personal struggle.

A case of misplaced expectations from me then, expecting an Iqbal.

I definitely do not agree with your thought that showing actual cricket wouldn't have held viewers' interest. If anything, the movie could have been a bigger hit had songs been cut and replaced with some more on the field action.
