People talking about dropping our 2nd best odi bat???had he performed in the warmup it would be look he is bashing in useless games etc.

Rohit is truly an xfactor....if Rohit fails and every one fails india will lose-obvious

if Rohit fail and the rest perform- India will get a good score and still might win

if Rohit performs doesn't matter if the rest fail or perform-India will win hands down hence rightfully called the X factor.

on one hand we cry about players not having the. X factor and when we have one you want to drop him? Ridiculous

Rohit is just incapable of doing well where every one else has failed . it kind of exposes that he scores when every one else does , which is basically easy runs .

If Rohit is an X factor, then every Indian batsman is an X factor :giggle:

Thank god Yuvi wasn't well for these Warm Up Games. You can't take players out of form into the tournament just because they have done well 6 years ago. That guy and Rahane can lose games on their own.

Yuvi has done just as well as Dhoni has done in recent times. Not sure where this out of form only applies to Yuvi....

Wc Qf 2015??? 1st ODI vs South Africa last year??? Many such more instances...anyway I see he is not in the best of form coming back from injury but dropping a batsman who is your 2nd best odi bat and a feared match winner? That is not a smart move

Amir got the better of him in Asia cup in a match where Hardik Pandya and Mowgli Sami in his 1000th comeback looked threatening with the ball too ....those were some ridiculous conditions.

in Wt20 Rohit got out trying to treat Amir with total disdain by trying to slog him.

wait and watch this time

Rohit has to play against Pak.

We don't want to make crazy funny changes for Pak game and give them any momentum. indoPak game is more mental than any other game India plays.

Anyway, its silly to drop one of your openers. This is short tournament so even if they fail in more than one game, I will stick to our openers till the end of the tournament.

Changing openers unsettles the line up. We don't want to do this drama a shoet competitive tournament. This is not a 5 game bilateral series.

If you would have some other name, I might have understood but Rahane? Rahane hasn't done anything to play ahead and replace Rohit.

I agree with you. Unforyunately the genius selectors dont give us any choice in this case. Rahane is not my first choie but lesser of the two evils.

Rohit being a good ODI player is an illusion. It is as much an illusion as Rahane can adjust to ODIs or t20s is or Raina can be a test player after that century was.

Rohit hit the purple patch for 2 years. Indeed looking at his stats in those two years anyone would believe he is a good ODI player. But the harsh truth is he is good for nothing player.  Sorry. Nothing against him and more than happy to be proven wrong by him (Mumbai Indians fan hehe) but I certainly don't believe that he is a good ODI batsman. A batsman who has so many ifs to actually score isn't worth the risks. He is not even one someone whom you can trust 100 percent even on flatter conditions.Even on flatter conditions one needs to hope Rohit somehow gets set and then go berserk.

Kohli has very good equations with some players, they will be in the team irrespective of performance, form, fitness etc

If true that is wrong.
