Brainfade Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 DK seems like a really good guy and has a stellar domestic record, but yesterday it was clear he is out of his league at the highest level. He had an opportunity - like Jadhav did a few months ago - to prove he could take the match by the scruff of its neck and help finish it off, but he clammed up again. I remember, in the early 2000s, when the trio of PP, DK and MSD were jostling to become India's wk. And am glad MSD wrested that spot at that time and became an ATG; DK could not have done it. I wish him a prosperous career ... in the IPL and domestic circuit. Zero_Unit, Sidhoni, SecondSlip and 3 others 6
SK_IH Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 there were lots of ups,90 vs pak in 2005 and then golden summer in 2007 but obviously he was never was mentally tough to be best in the world but look at our selectors keeps selecting him one of the downsides of ipl is these past it players get a chance to refresh the memory of selectors and they get preference because of experience Tendu_10 and Brainfade 2
RAZPOR Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 India's 360 ABd wannabee,seems better choker too. SUMO 1
Sonix768 Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 Only time I was impressed by him was when he opened alongside Jaffer and provided few good knocks at test level against England and Bangladesh. In LOIs, the only moments he was in limelight was that stumping of Vaughn, one diving catch against SA in Wt20 2007 and a four which denied Sachin an 100. Sums up nicely how well he had done in LOIs career. Adi_91, SK_IH, Tendu_10 and 2 others 5
Sandeep99 Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 DK in 2007 did very well in England as an opener and was instrumental in us winning a series there. Saha, who was discarded by everyone is doing great work in test matches. Ever wondered why? I believe it is due to the assurance of place in the XI and blooding into the team at the right time. Yes, MSD has done very well for us, especially as a leader, but it's wrong to assume someone else would have done very bad.

sscomp32 Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 chutiya kartik,100 100 kabki hogayi hoti Damn. I didn't think like that. Imagine if DK allowed him to complete that 100. The 100th 100 would have been in a world cup at home and what a fitting finale that would have been. We wouldn't have to endure that torture period of 2 years. Tibarn Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 I don't understand why Karthik always mentally breaks down in international matches. He looks like such a good player with a proper technique, but he can't perform in internationals. The Dark Horse, Tendu_10 and sscomp32 3

Let's leave it at that.
