MechEng Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 (edited) Long time ago I used to play cricket 07 at one star difficulty and would fulfill all of my cricket fantasies through that game like getting the great Australian side all out for a score of 4 with an off spinner picking up all 10 wickets and scoring double hundreds four times in ODIs. I used to laugh at the idea of a batsman getting to a 200 in ODIs back then thinking how unrealistic it was, let alone scoring it thrice! Edited December 13, 2017 by MechEng Cricketics 1
putrevus Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 It is to his credit Rohit has turned himself into a world class opener. He will walk into current world eleven. He is ahead of Ganguly/Sehwag as an opener. Sehwag would not be in my all time Indian odi line up.

Don't know why he has to wait till gets a hundred to really kick on. Because this team has a fragile middle order. He wants to make sure he bata deep in the innings. If he gets out trying to hit, you will be the first one to blame him.
putrevus Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 (edited) Indian ODI batting is mainly due their top three , if they click it is feast, if they flop like these in CT finals and last match , it is famine. People here talk as if these three choked in CT finals but it is not the case. They carry so much burden knowing fully well especially in big chases that there is nothing after no3.They carried this team to finals and semis of last two ICC tournaments. Only Australia and India are top heavy. SA have AB and FAF in middle order, England is very strong odi side due to their middle order and lower middle order. India when they had Yuvi and Dhoni in full flow had very strong middle order.India chased a big total in 2011 finals after being 2 down for nothing. Chasing 300 plus is not a gimme so calling that a choke is wrong, not having a strong middler order places extra burden on top three they know if they fail team is going to lose. gattaca Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Great achievement but hopefully h can do same in South Africa. Last time it was terrible to watch rohit bat in South Africa. He used to tuk tuk to 30 ball 15 runs then get out and used put pressure on the whole team.

Depending on top order for success and succeeding only when top order fires are two different things. There is no balance in this team, top three are the best finishers in this team and that is the reason why this team goes where top three goes. Other teams are not this way.
sergio04 Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 india wont win world cup due to weak middle order

Even in that Kedar Jadhav game,it took Kohli at the other end to guide him. Cricketics, sergio04 and Laaloo 3
WC2011INDIA Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 WHen setting a target, no one is better than Rohit on a flat / semi flat track.
