true , clear case of bias ,i think he shoud have been opening for ind in t20s in 2017

Should've been a part of the LOI sides in 2016 itself as backup-keeper (with often getting a chance to play as a pure batsman) and our first choice keeper in dead rubbers and poor sides like SL/WI. But these days we prefer to play our "full strength" side in all series .

Dhoni is keeping the future generation of keepers out.

When he leaves, these youngsters ( if they still are youngsters then :(()will be thrown in the deep waters with out any experience.

Seriously expected better from a guy who has achieved everything . He is not really that cool.

At least give up t20 man:whine: !hadd hai !:((

Most wicketkeeper batsmen that make it to the top fulfill these necessities. In Pant's case though, people are getting their panties wet over a one-dimensional slogger.

Can i guess which team you support and what state you are from? Dhoni supporters are like trumps, spreading fake news

Well he isn't obliged to step aside for the youngsta beauties which is fair enough. The onus is on the captain/coach/selectors to have a capable backup ready. They are the ones who have failed miserably. They've got away with this up until now as we've mostly been playing at home. Gonna be harder this year with thrashings likely to be coming up in SA/ENG at least.

So 4  50s and a century, pant is ready for lois we need hard hitter who can keep , dhoni should retire now if not with shame than at least with dignity, if he is still hungry for money he should unretire himself from test matches and can earn A grade contract from bcci as I still think pant is not ready for longer format and these pappu and dks are not the answers, dhoni can carry on his lunge and tuk tuks as long as he can in test matches but ffs give chance to young pant in Lois, pant has made statement here now let's see what excuse management and selectors come up with.

But he sucks in t 20 and he knows the selectors don't have the guts to fire him .

He knows his image and  PR machinery  is too big .

He will play till he gives it up himself .

When you have such a big public image , you have to be responsible.

He is responsible for keeping the future wk keepers out.

Whose fault is that?

We have weak selectors.

They can't remove big stars.

Dhoni by his own account gave up test captaincy because he wanted Kohli to have an easy start in test captaincy with home series due . He can do it for kohli because he is an equal star with a star power to match or beat dhoni's .

Why couldn't he have been that considerate against the weaker teams and sat out to let the youngsters have a try out in LOIs ?

What is he proving ?

For someone who was treated so well by the stars of the team when he came into the team ...he is pretty bad with carrying it the over to the next generation.

Wish he would show some of the magnanimity and support to the younsters that he got from his seniors.

Well he does suck in T20Is but I can't criticize him for making himself available for selection. The selectors may be gutless but the captain has enough power and clout to get rid of him. It's just a pity he prefers not to rock the boat. Btw what do you think of Karthik's constant selection in the LOI sides? :p:

Don't get me started .:p:

Kohli needs dhoni in odis because he is not confident as a captain in the faster form of the game . Keeping youngsters out is not so hard for him .A small price to pay for shared captaincy ( and his effed up reviews)

Younsters will pay the price for captain not being up to the mark on his own .

Plus there is that question of star power. Pant has that . He is a brand in the future.

Stars shine more in darkness. :p:

PP, DK  and the other recycled try outs are the darkness.

The star gets to be called the one man army.In India...absolute reverence of fans and media comes when you are the only hope.

He wants to be God....not the fab three or the fabulous four or five. Only God.

Ok...now I switch off my gollum avatar.:p:

The captain, coach and the selectors. In that order.

Tbh I always thought he gave up on Tests to extend his LOI career. He seemed distinctly disinterested in the last 1-2 yrs in Tests. The whole giving it up for Kohli was spin IMO.

Because if they excelled, it could be even harder for him to justify his selection. I don't think he's playing to prove anything. He's probably decided that the WC2019 is gonna be his swansong and there's no way he's gonna give up his spot even in the easier series which could easily backfire on him.

Tbf most of his seniors played 1-2 years past their sell by date. The likes of Yuvraj are still trying to make a comeback FFS. Barring Gavaskar and to an extent Dravid, none of our stars have timed their retirement right.

So is dhoni in t20....i.e. past the sell by date.

Someone has to do what he did as captain. Unfortunately kohli needs his second hand captaincy in ODIs so we don't get a future wk batsman.

Besides Pant is a direct threat to his yaar dhawan . A flamboyant left hander who plays as an opener ( + can do well in middle order) .. hmmm too close for comfort.

Unfortunetely  Pant probably can't sing Punjabi songs in the team bus with him .

(He should give it a try though...if that is what counts with skippy:p:.)

Nor is he likely to get married soon( underage :p:) to get a wife buddy for wifey. :p:

Pant's case is closed.

He should concentrate on becoming ipl star and earn big bucks . Wahan par bahut team owners hain ....wahan kohli dhoni selectors ki nahi chalti.

Infact , all younsters should only aim to be Ipl stars because kohli maharaj is a recycler .:hail: Long live cricket planet

If Dhoni  wants to  continue in t20...then he should have been playing the mushtaq ali tournament . If you want to be in the team...work for it.

Why let younsters play in state team if you are not interested to make way for them ?

Besides it is insulting that he does not have to prove his match readiness and just gets to walk in and out ( in a format he sucks )with out any real match practice.( the team management doesn't believe in match practice....so that must help :p:).
