chewy Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 ^^+1 time Pujara moves up and opens, he got the game, and in most of the overseas game he ends at crease inside first two overs! it is that ridiculous zen 1
AuxiliA Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 For England: Vijay Rahul Pujara Kohli Rahane Ashwin Saha Pandya Bhuvi Shammi Bumrah/jadeja

Little chance this team is even drawing games never mind winning them. Openers are critical and the current sorry lot barely make it into double digits. This then exposes a woefully out of form middle order which is more intent on survival then scoring and often collapses. Any runs that are mustered are by the tail throwing the bat. 200-250 totals are not winning any games. Even if the six players are all in form then what exactly are the other five doing, making the numbers? Can't expect to do well when half the team are passengers Openers are important surely, point of this thread is that these guys are note important. The caveat is that if we keep changing our middle order like not playing Rahane or dropping Bhuvi, then we will find it hard to win. Their presance will make it better chance to win.
Brainfade Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 I am ready to move past Vijay (wrong side of the hill) and Rahul (doctor's dream!). Blood some youngsters and let them grow into the role. Heck, promote Pujara to open; he's practically opening anyway. Core team: Pujara Shaw Rahane Kohli Iyer Pandya B. Kumar Saha Ashwin Shami / Saini Bumrah
veer Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 What a blunder to not pick up Bhuvi in 2nd match... Kohli made 153 in 1st inning where he was the last man standing... Bhuvi could have easily given him support while batting.. If Bhuvi can make 30s in swinging conditions.. (and mind you he got out because he was throwing bat around.. ) he could have easily batted for long in easy conditions in 2nd match / 1st inning.. At the end we were behind by 30 odd runs... plus his big stand in 1st test match with Pandya that gave Pandya chance to score close to 100.. What a f*ing mistake... We dont tour SA that often, and when you have 3 test series and golden opportunities like these, I hate to see them given away on a platter.. f.. f .. f... SUMO, Brainfade, sandeep and 2 others 1 4
vayuu1 Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 We are talking county and Ranji trophy first class cricket. The preference for both sets are different, its not that bcci has banned players to play in ranji, intikhab alam was coach of Punjab for quite sometime.Sent from my vivo 1601 using Tapatalk
Khota Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 Too early for all that though the nucleus of the team is: Kohli, Rahane, Dhawan, Rohit, Bhuvi and Ishant. I am not a fan of young players.

Together this bowling batting combination will aid each other in helping India win the series. Rest all can be changed and their perfomance should be monitored but these 6 guys must be given proper chance to play together as a combo and I guarantee we will win. If you are against the idea of BBS attack and the trip of batsmen I shared above then please tell me a better combo. 6 core players mentioned above will create history. Abe, ghanta karega history!! chewtiyapa ki history karenge, cricket ki nahin!! Unless Indian think tank changes their attitude - which means getting acclimatized before an important overseas tour and before confidence goes down with defeats being ill-prepared. Solid cpataincy, making solid decisions, backing your players so that they do not lose confidence and improving their technique for phuck's sake by practice, practice, practice. It is incomprehensible that Kohli won the toss and chose to bat with five seamers and a shaky batting lineup on a green pitch. If the wickets eases out on the second day, India are already on the backfoot and surely will lose this one as well. Vijay does not know how to get his feet to the line of the ball. Rahul plays with daylight between bat and ball. Pujara plays a solid innings and loses concentration with soft dismissal. I can't blame Kohli too much although he was lucky today. The less said about the rest, the better. Phuck, Bhuvi looks more assured than some of our frontline batsman. We have hardly gotten a solid opening start this tour. It puts a lot of pressure on the middle order when the openers are back with hardly any runs scored. Things can improve with tours coming up but knowing the Indian mindset, kuchh nahin badlega. Absolutely nothing, nada, zip!!! Edited January 25, 2018 by dandaroy BeautifulGame, Adi_91, Gollum and 1 other 1 2 1

MechEng Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 (edited) Nah tics, England tour will be much tougher than the present South Africa tour. I can't imagine what Clouderson and Barbie will do to this batting line up with the Duke ball and overcast skies. If you asked me last year, I would have rated India's chances of winning higher in South Africa than in England. Now seeing the way this tour has gone, England looks improbable. Bhuvi is a more reliable batsman than most in most conditions and hence for me, he is the most valuable player for us in Test Cricket, more than Kohli. It was disaster when they dropped him. If fit, he should play every test on every pitch. beetle 1

England is hard because of swing but with 5 match series, there is a cushion to adjust. I know where you coming from when you talk about Broad and Anderson, I rate them very high but I also know that Kohli is a better batsman today and that we have better team than what toured last time in terms of bowling. Again, itd a big series and I expect our batsmen to eventually adjust and win us that series. You play the six aforementioned players and we win.
wanted_desi Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 India A touring anywhere before England series?

We need to take one experienced opener and Shubhman Gill. Shubhman should be blooded as early as possible- I am confused which experienced opener should be taken to England though (Vijay,Rahul, Dhawan).
rkt.india Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 Need bowlers who swing the ball for England. None of Bumrah and Shami do that

And that they are better team now than they were before. Kohli is a much better test bat, and barring Pujara and Rahane, most players have improved theirgame. Mainly bowlers. Pujara isn’t doing as bad as people are making out to be here on Saf tour. Barring Kohli, you can only trust Pujara to score. I expect him to score in UK. sandeep 1
