Haven't seen as bad as him technically from last 10 years....

Your thoughts..

Manish Pandey is miles ahead of him....he should have been given a longer go...

He's been noticeably clumsy, even just gathering the ball.  Not acceptable for a young guy.

100% of dropped catches this series suggests that he is either a bad fielder or he is not confident at all to field under pressure of being under catches at international level. Whatever the reason, he needs to sort it out soon.

The second drop was not actually a catch imo. It was well short of him even the dive.

Maybe.  But he has exhibited a lot of fumble-itis so many times when the ball goes to him.   If he had maybe recognized and reacted half a second earlier, he could have gotten there and taken the catch.

Virat talks about this in that Breakfast of Champions interview - about fitness - either you are good enough to get there in time, or you are not, and everybody is left to say, "great effort".

I am giving a benefit of doubt on that occasion. Probably only on more replays it would be clear  to whether he ran slow or not.

He needs a lot of improvement

not at all convinced by him ......shud be kept away from test cricket

At this point try rahul, shankar, pandey, Nair and then look at hooda, gill n rana as well

Scored 200 against Australia, so must be something in him. Eventually temperament owns technique. If he can show temeperament to stick around and score runs,  that will take his career to incline.

I rather have temeperament guys than technqiue wih no run guys.

Needs to be given some time.

I did not watch him bat today but watched this video below. Check from 0:30 onwards, he is not even getting to the pitch of the ball and Gaja was bowling 120 kph, looks decent against spin. The shot at 2:12 is not good, you cannot play away from the body like that and outside Asia you will be an easy wicket. Will score runs in India, Lanka, UAE and Bangladesh only.
