You mean like how:

  • he played Rohit at no.3 in place of Pujara in India
  • kicked out Rahane and played Rohit in SA
  • opened with Dhawan in place of KL Rahul
  • Recycled Gambhir as opener
  • Recycled Parthiv as keeper when everyone including their grandmom know about his keeping capabilities
  • Kuldeep could play a test in Aus series only when Rahane took over captaincy
  • Dropped Bhuvi in next test after he was our best bowler and second best batsman in SA

and lastly not allowing any batsman to settle into a spot in test XI.

I mentioned squad not playing eleven. Hehe. Anyway my intention was clear. Unfortunately wrong goat took the bait.

Squads are mostly selected by selectors unless captain wants someone specifcally

1. bhajji returning to test cricket in SL on IPL form

2. Aniket.Chaudhary was on sidelines when ishant was struggling. Ind-Aus series, aniket was bowling in nets n troubling everyone (kohli was so happy with him that he picked him in his RCB squad for 2 cr without knowing he isnt a good t20 bowler)....i think their were few injuries and he cud have been picked yet we went to ishant.

3. Nair was dropped from squad after one poor series against Aus, the man who scored 300 against Eng . But Rohit despite being a failure has just been dropped once and that was afghanistan series

Now LOI vs Test mistakes

LOI has a far bigger pool to choose from and test matches we dnt have that bigger pool so margin of mistakes is less . U urself wud be able to make so many options for places in ODI side but wnt be able to create same for test so we roam around same players

Test squad Virat Kohli (capt), Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, M Vijay, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane (vice-capt), Karun Nair, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Rishabh Pant (wk), R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Shardul Thakur

We will have ash or kuldeep in the test team and no chance of even playing them both as the track will be green. Jadeja was not required to be in the test squad and a pacer could have been picked as our 2 top spinners are ash and kuldeep now for tests.

my first test 11-

kl rahul

dhawan

pujara

kohli

rahane

Kartik is first choice keeper batsman and if he fails then Pant in next test.

Hardik

umesh

ishant

shammi

Kuldeep

Pant will never get a chance unless Kartik is a disaster which he isn't.

According to media reports, Indian players are taking rest at present & are told to report on 23rd before their 4 day practice match against Essex in Chelmsford which is on 25th.

Sorry I might sound harsh but they are unnecessarily wasting a week before such an important test series. Even before SA test series, there were talks of team being sent quite early then the plan got changed & eventually leading to our team facing SA on the field with a single net session.

Ashwin is still playing TNPL & told yesterday in the presentation ceremony that if he is still here then he'll play another match. Pujara, Ishant, Shami haven't reached England. Let's not forget about the form of Pujara, Rahane. Pujara looked out of sorts against county bowlers & he'd be facing Anderson, Broad next.

The team management is in deep slumber. Our main bowlers injured. Test specialist batters woefully out of form. Selection headaches. It is like making a perfect recipe for disaster.

Rahane and Vijay are playing against England Lions side so they can have a game under their belt. But agree with you that our batting is looking shaky at the moment Dhawan plays like a hack in test matches and Vijay has regressed after his purple patch in 2014.Che and Rahane don’t give enough confidence that they can do well.Dk/Pant/Pandya no idea if they can make it count or not even though I see Dk playing ahead of Pant. With Bhuvi and Bumrah out bit worried about the bowling as well.

My bad, I forgot about Rahane playing against England Lions.

In my opinion we have to play 3 proper pacers & 2 spinners. Pandya has to sit out, while Ashwin will come at no.7.

Ishant-Shami-Umesh-Ashwin-Kuldeep. This would be my bowling line up which gives us somewhat a chance to get 20 wickets. Even I'm unsure about Shami, I would've loved to have Bhuvi in this playing eleven.

Regarding batting, our test specialists have to click especially the trio of Vijay-Pujara-Rahane. Even if 2 of these flop, we are going to witness a brutal reality check till mid-September.

Don’t worry if we lose the test series then our cheerleader coach will remind us that they won the t20 series 2-1 :giggle:.

Even in SA, Virat was not too fussed with a lost test series. Have to win some overseas test series in England, Australia, SA to prove the batsmen and bowlers are capable in all conditions.

For that they have to select the team wisely and not make tactical blunders coaching staff to be honest is non existent.
