Dear selectors and team mgmt, kindly make sure Siraj is in the XI for the first WI test

Not everyday do you see a bowler with not only potential but proof that he can become a mainstay pacer. Of all the pacers we have seen in the last 5 years -Saini, Rajpoot, Thampi etc - Siraj is the best. He has backed it up time and again in FC cricket, especially with the A-team recently. He is healthy, in great  form and brimming with confidence. You really should have picked him for test 4 or 5 in England, but please don't wait any longer.

Oh yeah ... and make sure the curator makes a pace friendly pitch.

Sincerely,

Pace hungry Indian cricket fans

Siraj

--  Has picked  40  wickets from only  5  Unofficial tests  in the last 3 months  ...  2 tests in England and 3 in India, so both home and away performances.

--  Has  done the above against 4 different teams ... the A-teams of England, WI, SA and Australia.

-- Can bowl 135 k to 150 k in T20s ...  expected to bowl quick in tests too.

--  Gets zip off the deck.

--  Is around 6'1" and bowls with a reasonably high arm action.

--  Was a bowler who bowled indipper predominantly ... but has now developed the away going delivery too and this has made him lethal.

--  Is accurate in 4 day games from his 2nd spell onwards.  Bowls lots of deliveries directed at the top of off stump to top of 5th stump.

--  Has a good yorker and bouncer.  Can polish off the tail quickly, which is often our Achilles heel.

--  Has played lots of FC matches in recent times ... so knows how to bowl 20 overs a day.

-- Is  24 years old.

His A-team performances in the last 5 unofficial tests

Wickets

4 + 4 =  8

4 + 3 = 7

5 + 5 = 10

4 + Did not bowl

8 + 3 = 11

Have we seen this kind of wicket taking ability ever in A-team games  ?

If we cannot pick a tallish and pacy bowler who is in the form of his life and knows how to run through sides ... there is something wrong with us.

Ishant is injured, unlikely to be fit.  Rest Bumrah as well. Pick Shami, Siraj and Saini for the test series.

Agree wholeheartedly.

Both Siraj and Saini need to be actually tested out in the playing 11.

Bumrah, Siraj and Saini can be a much more all-condition wicket-taking pace attack than our current one.

Siraj and Saini need to get their feet wet  in tests against weaker teams.

There is wrong with the selection committee . Inspite of this performance he was not choose for the England series.

As per them Shardul,Kaul & Chahar are ahead in the queue & they need more opportunities.

Against a weak windies team I don't think this selection committee will give them chances & we might see Bhuvneshwar, Bumrah, Umesh & Shardul as the bowling attack

Ideally we should also include Rajpoot into the mix,

Nice prospect for tests..gets bounce,movement

Shami,Saini,Siraj, Rajpoot

We can rotate them against Windies

And not just in the xiv. He needs to be in the xi and told to let it rip with the guarantee that he will be going to Australia no matter what his stats are against the WI. Confidence is key.

This level of talent is rare.
