Batsman who faced him said he was quicker than his pace showed on meter. Yes ... the McGrath example invariably comes up when trundler references are given these days. But McGrath was a 6'5" pacer who hit the deck hard and got steep bounce. Extracted a lot of life out of the pitch. There was no regular speed gun usage during his quickest years when he was in his 20s. During the 1999 World Cup, when regular speed gun usage started, he bowled at an average speed of 138 k in the first match. That is quick. McGrath hit more batsmen on the body than Jason Gillespie did. He got a lot of zip and bounce off the deck. Some people only remember a 35 year old McGrath bowling slower. That happens to every pacer when " old ". Even Anderson is a 6'2" pacer who gets good bounce. He was a fast medium bowler during most of his career. Never a trundler. Again, impression is formed during his last years. Good pacers who are able to gather huge experience ... are able to pick up lots of wickets when they are " old ". At that time, experience and high skill level substitutes extra pace. A pacer without huge experience can't replicate that. bhakum20, SrinjayDutta, Sgattick10 and 5 others 2 3 3

Sandeep99 Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 Looks a very good bowler in Asif mould. But Pakistanis may label him as a trundler. They never appreciate these kind of bowlers.
Lannister Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 A rank trundler but clearly knows about his strengths and weaknesses and that's the half battle won for any bowler. express bowling 1

DHONI_FANN Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 Wonderful bowler. Looks threatening all the time even though his speed is not that high.

SR of 40 with avg 16 is super impressive considering it includes few matches in UAE too where he is performing equally well... wtf were you guys doing with Mohammad amir all this while? this guy should have played 75 test matches by now...
Temujin Khaghan Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 any post-2000, non-SENA fast bowler with below 25 average deserves respect... and this guy is at around 16.41 just super... Asim 1
