Spot on Ravi

I dont want with the next test on Friday seeing any of our fast bowlers he bowled in this match anywhere near nets.  Need to rest and do physical appropraite recovery. Probaly on Thursday a gentle next max to get loose before big day

All other players dont want to see them practicing hard before friday as with back to back games so intense need to recover physically.

More a case for some batters to have a bit of knock wed and thurs maybe.  But not too much or burn out

Practise can be optional esp. after a 5 days game. We have to guard against burnouts too .... such topics have been explored in books such as 80/20 running:

Author Matt Fitzgerald’s most recent published work is, 80/20 Running: Run Stronger and Race Faster by Training Slower. This is a training book geared toward middle and long distance runners of all abilities, but the basic premise can be applied to any endurance sport.

To an experienced runner, that basic premise of training by the 80/20 guideline is self-explanatory, it’s all in the title; however, for the curious or inexperienced athlete, the ratio can be described as running 80 percent of the time easy and 20 percent of the time at medium or high efforts. This ratio of slow and medium and fast training works, as all successful middle and long distance training schedules are based on programs that resemble Fitzgerald’s 80/20 guide.

He was talking about the fast bowlers. The fast bowlers did pretty well again so can't say he was wrong.

The 4 fast bowlers are not the problem. Should have been Bhuvi for Umesh. Umesh is a

replacement for Shami. Can’t play both at the same time. Should have had a spinner but that is hindsight but even the 4 fast bowler pick was bad

Yeah they made a blunder in selection. But that's a different topic altogether.

Someone here said that KL Rahul was batting in the nets an hour after the first Test ended so it's not like the entire team was suggested not to practice at the nets. It was just the fast bowlers because of the short break between the two Tests.

Bhuvi would have been worse in bowling. In batting just a bit of upgrade.Ideally it's spinner who should have replaced Ashwin: Jadeja or Kuldeep. No hindsight here. They got fooled by Australian media hype regarding the pitch.
