maniac Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 (edited) Not sarcasm or jinxing or anything but he is pretty good. Early on I thought he was a typical selfish Pakistani batsman. usually with Pakistan it is either the selfish tuk tuks or the brainless hacks and nothing in between. However this guy looks quality. maniac Posted May 8, 2019 Author Posted May 8, 2019 Got out now and people are going to make fun about jinxing etc but I mean it, he is really good. sandeep, vvvslaxman, Laaloo and 3 others 6
sandeep Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 Banjo with great power comes great responsibility. Remember this during the WC before you get itchy fingers, when it comes to Indian team Vilander 1

Credit where due. There were some good pak players who are neither selfish nor tuk tuk 1) Saeed anwar 2) Imram Khan 3) Inzy 4) Misbah - My personal favourite Coming to this guy, he has future but i thought the same about kohli-look-alike (Can't remember his name)

By greenbro standards he wasn't half bad as a batsman. Still one of the few batsmen across the border who can drive a ball to the boundary on the rise. But his development stalled, and he got delusions of grandeur etc, lot of mental issues with that one.

All in all, seems like a typical Pakistani in many respects then. Umar Akmal was another who the Pakistani community hyped a lot. I thought they'd finally discarded him some months ago, but he keeps turning up again and again. sandeep 1

Zero_Unit Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 No doubt he is, but teammates around him bats like retards. Their strategy needs to be bat around him, just like how team Ind does around virat.
Gollum Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 I have rated him for a long time, enjoy his strokeplay. IMO he has a higher ceiling than Mohd Yousuf, can be Pakistan's best overall (all formats) batsman since Inzi. Will follow him closely this WC, Pak's chances hinge mainly around him. Forward Defence 1
Gollum Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 Is 24 his actual age or Pak standard age? If it is the former, I see him ending his career as a Pak great. He seems to have a cool head on his shoulders which is a rarity for Pak batting prospects.
ShebbySB Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 Only Pakistani batsman who can walk into the Indian line up at no. 4 ....on a serious note I rate him very highly.
Turbanator Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 Minnow basher. Let him do something against a top 5 side and we will talk.
gazza Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 (edited) Averages 56 in Australia with a century and half century, so not bad, ODIs. In t20Is he’s done well against everyone and in tests he didn’t do too badly in South Africa. He’s still young and improving. Edited May 9, 2019 by gazza
VT87 Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 Best part of his batting is backfoot game, good upright stance ,doesn't have famous crouching tiger, hidden Dragon technique.
Norman Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 No. of match winning hundreds against top 4 (Aus, Eng, SA, Nz) Biryani = 1 Barber = Afridi Hence, Biryani >> Barber. sandeep 1
PBN Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 He was highly rated at even the u19 level. Gotten better with experience...has a wise and calm composure to back it up. Without people noticing much, he raking up centuries and scoring at a decent rate. Needs to start converting in Tests now..had a decent SA tour.
