Poms have revolutionized ODI cricket, bloody brilliant. Meanwhile we are playing 2000s cricket now, shambolic planning these last 4 years.

You can say whatever, Ind cricket doesn't even have players of such quality.

They were only 57 after 10. Even after 20 overs they were only 119/1. Less than 6. Carnage started after 33rd over. Late order hitting will decide one dayers as well.  Here is the reason for their fearless hitting. Look at the guys who are yet to bat. STokes, Ali, Willey, Rashid, Woakes, Plunkett all can bat. Just replace that line up with Jadhav, Pandya, Shami, Kuldeep, Bumra. India is so far behind in this area. Infact not just India apart from Windies (who don't have a method like England) nobody else is blessed with this much of hitting power.

Yup. Hitting big without losing your wicket is an art. We have sloggers. Butler is not a slogger. Clean striker. Even in the IPL he showed the difference between a striker and a slogger. He just doesn't lose shape, stay still just swing through the line cleanly. Wish we had an extra leg spinner instead of Jaddu.

Apart from Butler (Kohli can match him shot to shot barring scoops, but still I'd give benefit of doubt) , who do you think are unmatchable in this England side?

Everyone else are just above average.

Difference is Butler's wickets is not as valuable to England as Virat's wicket to India. Roles are different. He has the license to kill. Kohli doesn't have. He is somewhere between Root and Morgan.

Had we backed the right horses you would have seen the quality. All we needed was to give 2 out of KLR/Pant/Gill/Iyer a continuous run and our top 7 would look ferocious on English pattas even after accounting for Cool. Buck doesn't stop with selection panel, TM should have reconfigured the batting order to get the best out of the unit and we would have matched England's firepower. This is a major * up by us and Kohli deserves a lion's proportion of the blame.

Great batting from England, but pretty sure England wouldn't have posted 350 plus vs India

Maybe around 300ish

Challenge for India is chasing 300 plus will be difficult if if two out Dhawan, Rohit and Kohli flop

Last year our fast bowlers  Umesh , Sid Kaul and Shardul Thakur against this same English side that too at Trent bridge got England for 268.

Meanwhile these self proclaimed best bowlers have given away 380 :phehe:

That was all Kuldeep

Agree. But that wasn't my point.

@SK_IH stated that we don't have players of that quality. But apart from Butler, no one in this England side is unmatchable.

Kohli cannot hit sixes at will like Butler.
