Alam_dar Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 (edited) I am interested to know if those people, who could not read Urdu, find written Urdu beautiful? Or they find it like "insects" on the page? Following is known as "Nastaleeq" style of writing Urdu, which Urdu inherited from the Persian. While Arabs use "Naskh" style", and Quran is available only in Naskh style. I find Persian Nastaleeq Style to be an Art work. Another quality is this that Urdu could be written quicker than English (just like short hand writing). Edited May 28, 2019 by Alam_dar
Alam_dar Posted May 27, 2019 Author Posted May 27, 2019 Images in above post are from "Hand Written" Urdu Nastaleeq. While Urdu Nastaleeq, when written in Computer, looks like as under:
I6MTW Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Urdu sounds good and pleasant. Words and poetry are deep. But, the writing and reading style sucks and is horrible.
Real McCoy Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Anything written from right to left is very unnatural IMO. They write right to left but still turn pages from the first page on the left of the book to proceed on to the next one.

And the people who write from RTL (right to left) think that it is the natural way of writing, and they wonder how could man write from LTR (left to right). It proves that human could be taught a behaviour, which he thinks a nature. Due to this problem, it is still unclear if natural diet of Human is vegetarian or meat based diet. I am still more comfortable in writing from RTL. 29 minutes ago, Real McCoy said: They write right to left but still turn pages from the first page on the left of the book to proceed on to the next one. No, I think there is a misunderstanding here. They do exactly the opposite of it. All things are right to left, including the turning of the pages too (i.e. contrary to an English book).

Ok, thanks. I got this doubt in my mind that people who could not understand the script, for them it should be horrible and like "insects" on the page. Now you have confirmed it. Nevertheless, the people who could understand this script, then this Nastaleeq Urdu is like an Art and Calligraphy. And they are in love with this writing style. For me too, this is like a magic. I think it is same that written Chinese is like insects on the page for me. But for Chinese people, the Chinese script is an Art and they love Chinese calligraphy.

I may get rid of the religion, but I still find Urdu Language beautiful. And Persians gave this writing style a new look in form of Nastaleeq, which I absolutely love personally.
velu Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 if something is written from right to left , they should write from top to bottom as well right @Alam_dar ? The Dark Horse and Real McCoy 2

No, it is absolutely not needed. Actually I had no idea that any language could be written from top to bottom. It was only later that I came to know about Japanese language (from top to bottom). Gollum Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 (edited) I don't like it. Urdu sounds wonderful, amazing but writing is meh, like a 6 year old using a paintbrush in his leisure time. Edited May 27, 2019 by Gollum sergio04, Alam_dar and Real McCoy 1 2

Alam_dar Posted May 27, 2019 Author Posted May 27, 2019 Urdu sounds good while it came from Persian, which is a very sweat language. Here one old National Anthem of Persia (before the Mullahs took over Iran). Just listen and enjoy the sweatiness of Persian Language.
