Not really. They are welcome to stand by their army which is the pride of their country even if so many have been eliminated by our jawans in counter operations.  Of course if they idolise terrorists and terror groups (which they have done), it's a different story and unacceptable.

Dude, you are very naive. No army is innocent. Or even if it is, that countries 'opposition' won't view them as such. Therefore it's best to keep politics away from cricket.

Army distances itself from Dhoni glove controversy

The Indian Army on Saturday distanced itself from the controversy surrounding the daggar insignia on Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni's gloves, saying it had nothing to do with it.

Dhoni's gloves sported the 'Balidan badge' of the parachute regiment's special force during India's opening world cup match against South Africa in Southampton in England on May 5.

Talking to reporters after a passing-out parade at the Indian Military Academy in Dehradun, GOC-in-C (South-Western Command) Lt Gen Cherish Matheson said it was Dhoni's personal decision to wear the Army insignia on his gloves and the Army had nothing to do with it.

The International Cricket Council alone could take a decision on the issue, he said.

Being an honorary lieutenant colonel of the regiment, the insignia is embossed on Dhoni's gloves.

When the ICC objected to it, the BCCI had sought permission for it, which was turned down by the world cricketing body.

The ICC said players could wear logos of sponsors only. -- PTI

Where did i say all armies are innocent? All I said is we are allowed to support our army just like they are. But if you are equating our army with theirs you are very wrong. It's a known fact their army supports UN banned terrorists. We simply kill the terrorists and their supporters. I agree about keeping politics away from sport overall but a balidaan symbol on the gloves of a honorary lieutenant is hardly provocative and actually patriotic. Sport is about patriotism too for your nation.

True. But on organizational front there is hardly any difference between Indian and Pakistan Army. We both follow the British structure I think. Ranks, training, postings etc very similar.

sports is not about patriotism. Please try and correct that misconception.

The real scums of Mother India are who think sports is patriotism.

Its like saying Khetarapals sacrifice is same as a victory in cricket.

These are the real anti nationals and should be put in bloody jails.

no fault of theirs though. For money, sports is marketed as patriotism and the gullible fall for it.

If you don't understand the difference between the two forces, you are immature.

Indian Armed forces are under the control of the elected govt and serve the country....on the orders of the govt.

Pakistan Army rules their country and their elected govt.

Understand the difference.

Sure mam. I know that difference in character.  But I can say the same for your understanding too about the immaturity.

I am saying both follow the same organizational structure. The difference can exist while following the same organizational structure. The ranks are same. Training academies are pretty much same, squadrons, drill commander etc... Both originated from the British Indian Army. Both have a regimental system and are divided into commands. The commander in chief is the president of the country.

Both armies have worked under each others officers in third world countries as UN PKF and praise each other too. You will find videos on the net where Generals and COAS have openly praised each others armies.

How can you say both are structurally same when the control is differenct.

Just having the same structure does not make them same.Almost all armed forces have similar structure.

Indian armed forces are completely under the command of the elected govt.

That is the biggest difference. The controlling body is the govt.

Where as there ,the army is the controlling body.

No mam. Officially on paper even their Army is under the command of the elected government and has the president as commander - in - chief. You will have to read about how both Armies were formed from East India company army and then the British  ( Indian )Army.

A bit of reading or videos on NDA / IMA vs PMA will also help understand the similarities.

When all armed forces have similar structure, then obviously India and Pakistan will also have similar na?

On paper doesn't matter when the army has been throwing out elected govt at will thoughout their history as pak army.

Please don't call me mam....this is a cricket forum...not the Mess.:p:

Mainly it is Dhoni's PR's Fault. There was no need to start circulating and informing people about what he was wearing. Okay If he had bad match and you needed to cover up, otherwise there was no need.

And People should stop highlighting it, Debating it on news channel is laughable and giving examples how in past ICC allowed to England and Pakistan team doesnt make it right. This ultranationalism injections our media have been giving since last 5 year needs to be stopped, there are many more issues on national interest which need to be covered properly. There was some poll on twitter about India should withdraw from wc, 40000 votes were given and 48% said yes.Withdrawing over gloves?? Both Akshay and MS are same, corrupt to core and selling nationalism, at least AK's movies are good, this guy is doing nothing since last 4-5 years.

We support india in cricket because we are indian. It's a display of supporting our people, pretty obvious. Different to csk v Mumbai. If there is no nationalism or identity involved why don't you support Afghanistan? Why are such moves rarely seen? It's not about enforcing patriotism at all but to deny there is a feeling of oneness at a game when the flag is raised and your players take the field is laughable.

I don't care for colonial era army structure on both sides. One army is a terrorist one and a dictatorship essentially.

marzi hai aapki, aakhir patriotism hai aapka. Kabhi patriotism ki sachai dikhegi to zameen hil jaayegi cricket se compare karke

Good luck
