With Shami you have to wonder if he's giving it all on the field or is his concentration not 100% most of the times, if he's distracted (due to external factors) then he will be a liability quite like in England

superb inns from Jadeja on a tough pitch..... Easily a ' 40+ avg: ' calibre batsman in tests.  Hope the  team management use him sensibly  'moving forward' atleast. He deserves his chances in 'top 6'

Its a shame how much he underperformed over the years with the bat. With a tighter technique, he could have been a match winner for India, especially with his fielding but for a long time, he just became stagnated.

I think the innings in the WC semi is like a start of a second phase of hia career. He can have a good 5-6 years averaging 40+ in the bat in Tests and ODIs. Plus the fact, he is a match winner with the ball in Tests. He can be a true assest to the team on all fronts throughout his 30s.

this is his record in the last 3 years or so. Averages 45.56 despite  trying to slog in the end on several of these occasions for the team cause.
