But with Bumrah, it will be linked to his action. So why have fast bowlers with more classical actions, like Pattinson, Starc, and Rabada been injured so many times. !! Pattinsons earlier action was not efficient at all. And then he aggravated it over and over again just like Shane bond. Starc hasnt had a stress fracture since the age of 23 . Last six years he has bowled at high pace even in tests without any back issues. Rabada was a case of mismanagement. He was made to bowl at high intensity match after match acrossn formats at a tender age.
putrevus Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 Thats why I kept saying India need more fast bowlers. You cannot just depend on Bumrah to be your ace.Are Saini and Siraj in that class. They look like no11s with the bat. nevada 1

Anderson's action was also termed very risky and injury waiting to happen, they totally changed his action and that led him to lose his rythm and confidence. He went back to his original action and has not looked back. Bumrah's action is unique unless he is getting injured very often , no point in tinkering with it. Denis Lillee's action is picture perfect for any youngster but he was also injured with back stress fracture. Edited September 24, 2019 by putrevus
ShoonyaSifar Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 Terrible news. Hope the injury is not serious and Bumrah makes a quick recovery. In hindsight, playing him in WI tests 6 weeks after a punishing schedule till the WC wasn’t the right call.
Suhaan Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 Steyn mostly played without injuries up until 2016-17

Bumrah is a genuine quick in tests capable of clocking upto 95 mph. Besides, the English don't really understand fast bowling as well as the Aussies and the Saffers.
bowl_out Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 Would have liked to see Siraj, but Umesh done well at home. So not a bad replacement nevada 1

What about Lilee??He was out 18 months.Stress fracture to back is very common injury for fast bowlers. This notion that only fast bowler get injured is also silly.Anderson was quite nippy in his hey day too. Bumrah will have to evolve and he will evolve .Hope he gets proper rest and rehab before playing again Edited September 24, 2019 by putrevus
LordPrabhzy Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 ho gaya beda garak But i think we can use our spinners in home tests and give him time to rest till the next away test series.

They all have had multiple stress fractures. Stress fracture are normal for tearaways. This is the reason we need to build backups but idiot selectors brought Umesh back instead of trying new ones. cowboysfan 1

As if selectors have any powers. The jokers who are our captain and coach currently have ZERO faith in any youngster. Both these idiots played as teenagers for India but suddenly have no time for grooming youngsters. And both of them shamelessly feel they have achieved something extraordinary in int'l cricket by winning a few bilateral series.
Suhaan Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 (edited) Wonder where does their accountability lie After the recent WC debacle(yes it was ,when you were nearly invincible in league stages) They have been constantly ignoring the upcoming talent both in batting and bowling for years now and there is no upper body which can reign in and question their decision What's the point of going back to umesh ?do you have the balls to play them(Saini,Siraj and others) in alien conditions if not at home? G_B_ Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 considering its the home season where the spinners do the heavy work i dont think its a bad time to get injured. Truth is with the amount of cricket being played India need to handle likes of Bumrah with care. A few months rest and he will be back as new. I think in general the more we have specialists for every format the better. Its time to move even Shami to become a test only player to prolong his career (dont go by his official birth date)
vvvslaxman Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Stress fracture is common for repetitive errort actions. Action has to be smooth right from run up till delivery to stay injury free. But Bumrah puts a lot of effort in his last stride which is the reason why he picked up the injury. Ishant is the example of stress free action. Pandya_Power 1
Forever Indian Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Rohit comeback, then Umesh comeback... Next who? Dhoni comeback to tests

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Umesh had his time. We need to find new alternatives. Someone who can do well in all conditions. Umesh isn't one. It's not certain that new one will do well but we will never know until they play.
