Has your passion for Indian cricket been dampened by BCCI's running of the game

 

Main issues putting off hardcore fans:

Persistence and positive propaganda for MSD

Failing to adequately support certain promising players e.g. KLR and Pant

Supporting and giving extended run to undeserving players like Rayudu (ODI's) and Rohit (tests)

Recurrent series with Sri Lanka 
Preoccupation with pointless t20 games

It’s not about a Rahul or Pant. The general attitude towards youngsters in last 12 months has been shocking.

 

Add to it there being no accountability for another WC exit in semis. The message is we do not care about the results. There is absolutely no perceptible change in the way we approach LOIs. 

 

All this at at a time when we are the u-19 World and Asia champions, our A sides have won almost all LOI series, home or away. If the youth teams are doing so well but youngsters can’t even get a run in the national side that has won no ICC trophies since 2013, then there is nothing to look forward to.

Saving grace is Pujara who top scored in Australia or else it would have been another series defeat in SENA. Kohli and Shastri tried to finish off Pujara's career also a few times.

Not just the BCCI. ICC too. And maybe there's even more to it. Perhaps some factors beyond the control of administrators too.

I have always loved ODI's more than Tests but with Virat as Captain I'm just bored with the team.They always follow the same template of Top 3 dropping anchor,no genius or spontaneity like Sehwag or Sachin or Yuvi.Dhoni at the end makes things worse.

 

Unfortunately they do just well enough not to be questioned and no one sees any reason for a change in tactics

Actually it used to be more of triangulars and quadilaterals with pressure for qualifying for finals and having to winthe finals. Triangular series held in Australia used to be so competitive.

 

Plus no broad bats/reduced boundaries/reverse swing and good spinners to deal with.

COA's whole conduct in last few years
Inconsistent selection process
Players running their huge PR campaigns.
Attempts to dissuade & demoralize youngsters with cheap comments in PCs
No accountability for those involved in decision making process
Shamefully content after coming short in a major ICC event.

I lost interest due to multiple factors -

 

1. Unimaginative and directionless captaincy

2. Strong bias in selections and clear favoritism

3. Ultra-stupid selectors and team management who have no idea about the game

4. Lack of opportunities to talented youngsters even in pointless bilateral series

5. Over emphasis and marketing of certain players 

6. Inaction over world cup exit. It feels as if India won if you haven't followed whereas the truth is that we got humiliated.

7. Same old players and same old stale methods. Top 3 or nothing. Even those are now fading and highly inconsistent.

8. Spinning of failures like South Africa and England tours like they're some sort of successes

 

I'm pretty sure most of the Indian fans have these grievances. Players have no passion and it's all staged when they show it. In general cricket is slowly going down in India. If BCCI doesn't get the act right and show some credibility at least in player matters, most of us would stop watching cricket forever.

Vihari pant bumrah so there were others.. But yes pujara was an instance of unprofessional team management actions.

Aus bowling was not depleted. But they did not have Smith Warner. It remains to be seen if Smith can do what he does against bumrah. That will be a fun series. I mean this when I mean a phenomenal test team they are something worth following.

I've not watched a single ball since our first T20 against West Indies , not even highlights. I was more interested in the Ashes and even the frigging Afg-Ban series and followed them closely. Tells how much I'm done with this team. Only thing I'm looking forward to now is the New Zealand tour.

Some people here have too many high expecations, talented players are not grown on trees or can be bought from shelf in super markets.Not winning a ICC trophy since 2013  but they have semis or all ICC tournaments.To win these tournaments you need some luck too.On top of it your main batsman has not delivered in knockout matches. 2013 CT  and 2007 T20 trophies were one stroke away from losing too.

 

First time in Indian cricket history they have comeptitive in most test matches away in SENA countries.They need some quality openers to be very good  winning overseas team.

 

England was damn lucky that they even got to semis , forgetting all the luck they had in finals.

The big joke was  Ganguly who in order to save his place in the test team pushed Yuvraj to open or even Parthiv Patel to open the innings.Was there a bigger joke than Dhoni under whose captaincy India lost 0-8  or 1-13 in overseas tests.Most of those tests India was not even competitive after first session.Or Ganguly faking  illness at the sight of tinge of green track .What about so called great captain who chose to retire in the middle of the series and leaving his team to fight their own battles.

 

This captain is trying to make Indian team compete in all conditions and people are mouthing him off.Why are people expecting Indian team to all of sudden turn into 2000 Australian teams or 1980s WI team. You need talent also to win.We have an opener who rarely crosses single digit score in two years across four continents but somehow is more talented than the best batsman in the team and captain is jealous of his talent.
