Aus wkts will help him more then indian wkts where he has done well 

Praveen kulasekra has all succeed due to their novelty factor....Finch, Warner and most other eng hacks especially waits for these kind of slow bowlers on flat pitches. I have full trust that these hacks will absolutely murder these trundlers, it's not eng where swing and seam LL save you.

142 t20 matches ;  27.48 avg ;  126.48 avg Does he look good top order batsman in any way ?   Shivam Dube has not scored a single fifty in 19 t20 matches ;In IPL only managed to score 40 runs in 4 matches with s/r of 121.21   Both these players with mediocre performances got selected.It looks Kohli will allow any batsman except Gill.

I think he does have potential, but needs right guidance. I hope he stays miles away from Zak.

I don't think we should run after left arm pacers ... and pick one only if he is one of the best pacers available.

 

Unfortunately, Khaleel is the best left armer available now.  He has potential but needs to play a lot of FC to become a ready bowler.

shudnt categorize all in same......wasnt only novelity they had swing n auss pitches provided pace n bounce to them so they became more threatening

 

chahar has that swing that can counter finch, warner n all .......n say whatever that new ball will swing might only for few over but it will specially under lights . Even in early days when bhuvis pace wasnt that much he always did well in t20

Samson has consistency issues but he is sublime when in touch. Not many domestic players have scored multiple IPL hundreds.

Dube is a lower order bat and hence doesn't get to face too many balls in T20s. His list A strike rates are a fair indication of his big hitting talent. His bowling abilities add an extra facet to his game although it remains to be seen if it is good enough for international standards.

Gill is a proper batsman and will probably end up having the longest career amongst the three, but in my opinion it will be better to introduce him in tests or Odi's. With Rohit,Shikhar,Virat,KL and Iyer as proper batsmen in the squad we hardly have any more room for technically correct assured batsmanship in T20s. We need big hitting allrounders(Dube) or wk-batsmen(Pant,Samson).

Other left arm options are Khejroliya and Sran. Khejroliya is a decent talent and can be tried in T20's. Sran had a good start to his T20 career albeit against Zim but then don't know what happened. He is out of the selector's radar now. 

Yarra Prithviraj is another good prospect. Tall left arm pacer can bowl 140kph.

instead of manish pandey we shud have tried either of kishen, sky or rana........we have enough options for top order we need to look for players middle n lower middle order option who can score quickly

Not a fan of Manish in T20s, but he is coming from a great Vijay Hazare season and our selectors always use performance in 50-over games to pick players for T20s

he has been in t20 side before VH

even in IPL he did well this year when he batted at 3...not below . We need players after that

Manish pandey would have been a better choice in odi at no 4 or 5.. his list A exploits in A series and vijay hazare trophy is there for all to see. However he doesn't merit selection in t20s.. as usual selectors picking wrong people in wrong format..

iam even apprehensive about shreyas iyer in t20s.. although he possesses enough firepower.. he has nvr utilised his true potential..

 

Hopefully Samson performs well nd cements his place.. he is the next best puller of cricket ball we have after Rohit Sharma

 

Nd really good on dube too. However if he really want to prove himself an alternative to hardik pandya's imperative role as an all-rounder than he needs to work on his bowling too.  He can match pandya's hitting ability.. but in bowling he leaves much to be desired..
