Point is to audition as many #6 batsmen who can be expected to hit boundaries as soon as they get to the crease, and can also give you a couple of quiet overs.  Doobie does not look that good.  But still worth auditioning him.  Just like its worthwhile to audition a Nitish Rana.  Because we can't always depend on top 4 batsmen to do bulk of the runscoring in T20.

I think there is still some talent there with Vijay Shankar and Hardik Pandya is a must for LoI formats. Kedar Jadhav is unreliable physically  and should be phased out as he nears the end of his career.

Krunal Pandya and Sundar are alright for T20s and Dube well he needs to show something with the bat soon. So far looks mediocre and with the ball obviously this buys him a lifeline but he is not going to sustain on his bowling.

People need to understand Dube is groomed to be our sixth bowler, don't have high expectations, any wicket from him is a bonus

Expectations should be from Zaleel,he makes our second line of attack ,needs to understand this Everytime walks into the field, just be more responsible more aggressive and Dube needs to work on his batting, his batting will make or break  his career

And Pant, play your natural game plz

Him and Hardik should be filling in as fifth bowler. Both of them will provide that fire power late in the innings.

man, this forum is full of some pretty reactionary folks, quick to judge and dump on players they don't take an instant liking to and who don't fit their pre-conceived notions. Dube bowls in 130-135 range, has a decent slower ball and as we just saw can land the yorker as well - combined with his batting potential, any international coach would like to have such a player around their squad. Even the much derided Vijay Shankar was decent for a part-time bowler, but his batting game was more suited for No.4 or 5, and we have better options for both slots. I dunno in which world some people are living - as if big-hitting batting allrounders who bowl 135+ are growing on trees! Other teams make do with barely medium pace allrounders like Symonds, Stoinis, Marcus North, Grandhomme - who have all done a job for 5-6 seasons for their team. A guy like Dube could easily do that for us - between him and Hardik, we have a good 6-7 for LOIs.
