Australia announce 14-man squad for ODI series against India

Pointless series, priority should have been NZ tour. Even had they wanted to host Aus, should have been a T20 series and fielded a young team as audition for T20 WC selection....maybe someone like Iyer as skipper. Kohli/Rohit/Shami/Pant/Bumrah/Kuldeep/BK/Jaddu should be in NZ at that time with rest of the tentative squad getting acclimitized. Now these guys will be undercooked for the real test.

Not voluntarily, but could get out early like in the ODI game against WI couple of days ago.

I hope not. While it's good for youngsters to bat under pressure, a better thing is like Dube getting promoted to no. 3 in the 2nd T20. 

 

My wishlist now is to see Gill/Shaw opening with Rahul vs SL. Enough of Rohit or Dhawan always playing. Let others get opportunities.

Very unlikely. 

 

If I'm not wrong, it'll be LSK who will select the team against Sri Lanka. MSK atleast gave chances to the likes of  Shaw, Gill, Saini, Rahul chahar etc but seeing LSK's commentary I'm afraid he may bring back Shankar, Rayudu, DK, Ashwin etc into the odi team.

As if bhuvi running riots....did you check his icc performance against bhuvi. Besides shami hardly get chance in odi and Look at their career stats. Even though shami would be a little costly I would pick him ahead of bhuvi everyday and twice on Sunday. Bhuvi is excellent in Ipl though.

Nope. Ganguly has said the new selection committee will not take over till SC has given the BCCI go ahead or changes which is unlikely before mid-Jan.

A lot depends on the toss, I'd like to criticize the current lot over the recent LO debacle but bowling with a wet ball is a recipe for disaster. Even Oz & Pak have lost against us consistently when we chased down massive totals against them last decade at home. Also that loss to Oz at home earlier in the year had something to do with the toss/dew as well.

Guys like Pant, iyer, Rahul, kuldeep, chahal, dube needs as much international exp as possible
