They are responsible for their own career. Badly handled this and that are just excuses ICF has for pant and co.

Pant, sure to some extent i would agree but tell me not one t20 or ODI specially when you planned to have him play test ?

Many youngsters have been handled poorly by this TM but Pant has been singled out for some special treatment from the captain and coach by going after him publicly. If Pant was not going to play a single game in T20 and ODI series and was only going to play tests then he would have been better off getting match practice by playing in the A games instead of warming the bench.

I agree to they did not do any injustice to any young player. But Pant should not have been dropped in tests.Guy like Iyer should have played world cup over DK.

We don't know what's going on dressing room so i can't comment on that. He had his chances in T20s and ODIs. He didn't take it, simple as that.

So if they had moved to Rahul before WI series home series i would have been completely with you however just when he started showing glimpses of his capabilities he was benched.

Where would he fit him in Test XI ? Everyone in this batting line up  took their chances. It can be Mayank or even Vihari.

Everyone except Saini and Kuldeep has received at least 1 vote. * this TM.

Good to note that Nair hasn't been forgotten by ICFers. Bizarre decsion by TM just to help a hopeless Rahane.

KL- was in top form in 2016-17 and bought to a point where he cudnt by a run buy sheer insecurity and dropping him on many occasion by not giving a proper chance or despite doing well

  • Was told that he ll be a backup opener after being the main opener and doing well in tough series
  • Was constantly benched in t20 despite always being a top t20 player
  • In ODI also was always dropped after 1-3 games , cud have made to bat in middle long ago

Unanimous choice for "Worst Cluster F of a situation" by Team Management.

2. Pant - Played 9 of his 11 tests away from home in England, Aus and WI, averaged 45+ with 50+ catches and stumpings, gets dropped for a 35 year old Saha returning after a gap of 15 months after missing almost the entire away tour cycle. On top of that, add the horrific public attacks by captain, coach and selectors on his batting, keeping and general attitude. Then out of the blue gets picked for the NZ test 11. Iamgine the mental pressure poor guy must be going through.

his keeping has been poor though.

Nair has been the worst handled young player. Pant is still playing and has always been in the mix. Rahul got enough chances in Tests, he just did not grab the opportunities given to him. Despite his 300, he hasn't played a game since 2017. Yeah he failed in his last Test but again we have seen players being given infinite chance despite of failures. I wouldn't put Pant and Rahul in the same bracket as Nair as latter has been dealt with in a very unfair way. Don't understand how Gill even features in that list. The guy is just starting out and is 20 year old.

Karun Nair is a tragic case. All boils down to Bewda. If you do not get down on your knees and even flick your tongue on his shriveled cok, you will show you no mercy! He is a cancer on Indian cricket. The best person to give him the boot is at the helm of BCCI. Will he grow a pair and do it? The last decent coach we had was Gary Kirsten and the Indian team looked totally different back then.

Pant has been given many chances , sometimes undeservingly, thats in test ahead of Saha. Saini I think could have been in Indian squad much earlier and should have played more games by now.

For all those voting Nair. Just check his record in Ranji specifically this year. He might get dropped from Karnatka team too.

He was dropped without any justification at that time but he also didnt do anything special after his dropping be it A tours or domestics

In tests, it's Vihari and Pant for me. Neither gets to play home tests and inspite of performing as good as they have in these tough tours, they will be the first to be axed at the time of failure. The pressure to perform is immense on these guys.

Some players lift their games in internationals, motivation and complacency being key issues in domestics. Also dropping him a couple of tests after that brilliant 300 must have been a psychological blow. That is unheard of. And how harsh is it to judge based on 2017 Aus tests, Wrogn himself went missing in that series.

Each of these 10 gets at least a vote each. The depths our TM has sunk to , never before in Indian cricket history have youngsters been treated so unfairly.
