Thank God this didn’t start in India’: British think tank expert mocks India on coronavirus outbreak, praises China for ‘controlling it well’

Yes it hurts that a chewtiya is pointing this out but I have never visited China but I can say this about India that Public hygiene and civic sense is crap. Pretty sure China is the same though because Chinese tourists in America are a big public nuisance and menace and most obnoxious lot.

However in India no one respects law  or authority and acts like they own it. Neither does the government no matter who is in power  have the guts to follow through in fear of pushing the public too far.

I want Modi or even Shah to say “G maraa, jo ukhaadna hai ukhaad lo” instead of giving 100 “ashwasans” to haters.

This is where China is a league apart. So this chewtiya is not entirely wrong

In the 1000s of years of history, which epidemic has originated from India? Public hygiene and Public Health measures are two different issues. He says governance is better, where is the evidence - SARS, Corona in the recent years from China was not contained and is a global pandemic, where is the factual evidence for this pig to spout nonsensical facts about India? Pneumonic Plague and Nipah 2 cases from India where it was contained within India and was restricted to Surat/Kerala only.

Funny thing last time I visited india my uber driver broke every traffic signal but one because apparently it had a red light camera. Jagan Mohan Reddy can Afford to install a red light camera in every signal in Andhra and even Telangana with his own personal money  and still be an extremely wealthy man.

Something like Controlling a pandemic is a losing battle, if government  control it you get no credit it becomes a job but if you fail opposition party will be ready with swords and machetes.most decisions good or bad In india is centered around how many votes they will get in the next election. This is what sets China apart. Their government doesn't need to worry about such things.

China is like Kohli an arrogant brat that we love to hate but can’t help admire his work ethic while India is like Rohit Sharma in test cricket, potential to be greater than Bradman (in tests of course) but always a couple of failures away from receiving abuse and getting dropped :((

He maybe a racist pig, way out of line with his remarks but let's be honest here, if this started in india, this epidemic would have been equally disastrous, if not worst. Hygene among some of the indians I have witnessed are disgusting at best ...

I am not an expert in this matter but correct me if I am wrong didn’t Nipah or Plague originate due to unhygienic environment (mosquitoes and rats). Sure it may have been well contained by the governments but such unhygienic conditions were created by the public themselves and shouldn’t have been there to begin with.

On the other hand this seems more like a biological experiment gone wrong as no one seems to be able to determine the root cause yet with 100% accuracy. That can usually cause chaos and it comes down to chaos management where China has done really well.

Do you know how many old people die of common flu in USA? Is it because of unhygienic conditions?  In India, yes, people are not generally not health conscious, but it has changed in recent years. Nipah 2 was a case of exposure to bats/pigs. It was spread in Kerala and was contained there. There is no evidence, it was caused by unhygienic environment.

Yes, China has contained it very well, by not disclosing the number of deaths and also making whitsle-blowers disappear.  There are too many clorifying stories about how China's autocratic way of life is a better system. This is not one of them. They have failed miserably in pandemic containment.

@coffee_rules my understanding/interpretation  based on things I have read is India didn’t usually have pandemics historically because we started urbanizing And living in urban colonies  a long time before the Europeans who mostly lived on farms and in close proximity with animals which is the result for  most modern diseases originating there . In fact I think swine/pigs are a major host for a lot of diseases due to which pig is not considered as Kosher in a lot of cultures.

However once they urbanized they have kept most diseases under check.

On the other hand a city like Surat or a state like Kerala which is pretty prosperous have no business in being responsible for such pandemics. These are self inflicted.

I know I am over analyzing this statement which comes from a place of bigotry and racism rather than a well thought out statement but we cannot deny that things can get out of hand in india in a chaos like situation.

Ba$tard$...

India has been most sucessful in controlling it unlike the so called developed nations.

Almost a month and only 87 cases in this extremely over populated country.

Which other country this big has been able to keep it so low?

India also has been very humane about getting not only its own citizens but also citizens of friendly countries and  treating them too.

Can never happen. Although we are bad at some things, our eating habits have always been clean.

You mean in terms of how we prepare food or the way we eat ? A large population still eats rice with hand which isn't advisable these days.
