Will they ever mount to anything and be counted?

I worry about team India. They are becoming the RCB of the International cricketing world under Kohli

Picking and backing wrong players in LOIs and also Kohli's captaincy is honestly crap in shorter formats. He does not have a plan B or C when things go wrong.

Need to select batsmen with good strike rate apart from AB.

The openers issues

1. Padikkal is too slow with strike rate of 124

2.Finch has been below par apart from one IPL season few years back. He needs to be replaced.

Middle order woes

Apart from AB, this batting line-up lacks the approach for scoring at a good pace. Moeen Ali, Sundar and Shivam Dubey do not provide the firepower which the likes of Samson, Russell, Pollard, Pandya, Morgan, Ishan Kishan etc provide to other teams. Quality match winning hitters are required to support AB. It's a one man show.

Bowling

Apart from Chahal, I doubt any other RCB bowler is even in top 10 wicket takers. Chahal will need support from othera. One bowler picking wickets won't win team an IPL.

Overall the team needs to work during auctions. They need to drop selections they messed. Need quality picks rather than ones just making numbers.

No matter what we super team you select, if the captain & team management are clueless, there is nothing much to be done...You need to understand the importance of the Coach... Theres a reason DC and to some what extent KXIP has done well this season... Both Kumble and Ponting have gone through an exclusive training in a premier T20 coaching academy...

RCB won’t be able to do much unless it gets rid of Kohli the captain and the Team management...

Let's be honest though. They overachieved and deserve credit for reaching the playoffs. Even at the start of the tournament, anyone could see that their batting line-up was lacking and they didn't have a particularly menacing bowling line-up either. Some key batsmen didn't fire like they were expected to, still they made it to the top 4.

The tweet has it wrong about KLR.

After being ordinary at SRH across two seasons, KL Rahul grew as a T20 keeper-batsman at RCB during the 2016 season. Maybe it was just as simple as playing at his home ground, but surely there were some inputs & help from the team, that helped him play with some refreshing freedom  and an attacking mindset. Too bad he could not follow-up in 2017 due to the injury.

But Watson & Stoinis were certainly better post their RCB stints.

Yes, surprised that RCB made playoffs with such a team. RCB need to spend money to get quality T20 players.
