Trevor Bayliss was available but BCCI went with Shastri

Obviously Shastri is not a benchmark so there were much better options available anyways but still here is a guy who won

WC 2019

Won IPL with KKR

as the coach of SL got them to WT20 finals and WC 2011 finals.

Started the white ball revolution in English cricket and made them a must watch side.

Not sure of his Big Bash record though so someone fill me in

Took SRH a team on paper which is probably one of the weakest and on top of that suffered from injuries of their star players to becoming contenders for the title :hatsoff:

There were other great- good coaches like Moody etc who applied also but anyway Bayliss is a revolutionary coach in the Woolmer mould.why didn’t BCCI scout him?

What BCCI one of the richest sporting bodies in the world  does, hires Shastri

Bayliss never applied for Team India.

It was a 3-way battle between Shastri, Mike Hesson and Tom Moody.

Kohli picked Shastri

doesn’t matter. He is a smart guy for not applying and obviously Hesson and Moody are way better than Shastri as well and have a much better proven track record.

However England changed their fortunes hiring him and when he was available why didn’t BCCI even try to scout him? I am sure The Godfathers at BCCI could have made him an offer he couldn’t refuse.

It’s disgusting to see BCCI hiring these substandard guys with all that money.

Again they picked Sreedhar over Jonty Rhodes as fielding coach too :wall:

Kohli hand picked all these “yes men” as our coaches. There was no BCCI then, it was CoA.

It makes me very mad seeing this son of a B still our captain even after countless F ups by him.

I would have hired Hesson and Jonty straight away. Now I don’t see them ever applying again as long as this scumbag Virat is still in charge

true, it should be BCCI or whoever the governing body is saying this is your coach, now figure it out to Kohli rather than Kohli telling whom to hire.

I don’t think even Dhoni had a hand in picking any coaches like Fletcher,Kirsten etc. these guys were just smart enough to work in the back ground. The only other time it happened was Dada-Chappell and even though Chappell did a lot for Indian cricket and is far from the villain we think he is.

Too much power to a single person will always create trouble its not going to end with Kohli, we have seen this with Dhoni before ,there is no accountability

As if the TM alongwith Kaptaan don't care ,they are doing a charity to fans

Dhoni didn't give a * to questions raised on his leadership skill in longest format, they aren't threatened,Indian Kaptaani has rather become sarkari job for these guys

AfterKohli someone else will do it,kaptaan and coach should never ever be given ao much authority

They are openly playing with young careers despite doing shyte in KOs

Seriously hope thia changes for good,we hope there is accountability like before it used to be

The problem is also with us, the fans. We are basically addicts to cricket and we settle for subpar cricket. Hey what if we lose, atleast my fav player got some runs/wickets. Once we realize our own power that is the whole country realizes, then and only then will change occur not just in cricket and it can be extended to politics and economics also. We got our freedom from the British by civil disobedience and military struggle (often under played by gandhians). If the whole of India can stop watching one tournament, then BCCI will listen to us through their channels such as commentators like Harsha who would ask question like why we are not watching. But we won't do this as we are compulsive watchers even though we are getting butchered by the kiwis and kohli is laughing at the press conference with the padosis. end of rant :((

Not only has Shastri zero coaching credentials and experience but BCCI in their wisdom made him the HIGHEST PAID coach in the world

How the F does that happen when he has no track record? Nobody else wanted Shastri so why on earth do you give him a ton of cash

Need a bright new future and for that to happen, Kohli and his Cheerleader need to GTFO

Just to be precise, King Kohli selected Shastri, BCCI just put a official stamp on it. Most of Indian cricket's present issues have a direct link to King Kohli.

Indian cricket will be able to bloom again only if this idiot quits playing. It will be another 3-4 years of this mediocrity under captain doofus.
