Straight Drive Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 Team India Test squad: Virat Kohli (Captain), Rohit Sharma, Mayank Agarwal, Prithvi Shaw, KL Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane (vice-captain), Hanuma Vihari, Shubman Gill, Wriddhiman Saha (wicket-keeper), Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd. Shami, Umesh Yadav, Navdeep Saini, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, R. Ashwin, Mohd. Siraj. Shaw Agarwal Pujara Kohli Rahane Vihari Pant Jadeja Umesh Yadav Shami Bumrah I don't think there will be wholesale changes to this 11, however we can't rule out one or two changes. Whom do you think will be the starting 11 for D/N test at Adelaide. Real McCoy 1
Serpico Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 IF Ishant is fit and plays practice games, he will definitely be included in the D/N match in place of Umesh. I would also play a fourth pacer in place of Jadeja since its D/N. Saini or Siraj who ever plays well in the 3-day matches will make the debut I will also include Rohit as opener in place of shaw if he makes it to australia and plays practice matches. If not, then Gill/Shaw who ever is more impressive in practice games
Ankit_sharma03 Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 Knowing kohli if Ishant isnt fit he ll go to umesh and if its pink ball he shud look at siraj ahead of saini even
SK_IH Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 Rohit Agarwal Pujara Kohli Gill Rahul Pant Ashwin Saini Shami Bumrah Real McCoy, raki05 and express bowling 3

I get it that it's a D/N and pink ball will be more favorable to medium pace, however with 4 pacers it can be trouble if Aussie bat for long and the 4 pacers have to take heavy workload right in first test. Moreover, not having Jadeja will also mean the main batting unit has no chance to leave it to lower order for scoring some runs. Tridibans_16 1
Majestic Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 The XI most likely will be:- Rohit/Gill Mayank Pujara Kohli(c) Rahane Vihari Saha(wkt) Jadeja Ishant Shami Bumrah If Ishant is not fit, they should go with Siraj for pink ball test. coffee_rules 1

Pant was second highest run scorer amongst both teams. Don't think he will be dropped at all considering he exceeded expectation on last tour down under.

I wish pandya was fit to bowl, having four pace options and a spinner would have been amazing for the pink ball match. They can make bold move and pick four pacers and jadeja in place of vihari.. pant is good enough to bat at 6, so jaddu at 7 wouldn't be that bad..

coffee_rules Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 Rohit will not play Test1 as Kohli can't see him eye-to-eye after IPL and the selection saga. He will replace Kohli from 2nd test onwards. Most Likely X1: MA Aggarwal KL Rahul Pujara Kohli Rahane Vihari Saha Ashwin Shami Bumrah Saini/Siraj Serpico 1

Definitely harsh on Vihari, the guy has not done anything wrong but he will come into the XI once Kohli is on paternity leave. Regarding Rahane, he is not good enough. coffee_rules 1
Gollum Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 First the players must be 100% fit, that criterion may rule out Saha, Ashwin, Ishant (best suited for T1 IMO), Rohit. My team: Shaw Mayank Pujara Kohli Vihari Pant Gill Jadeja Saini Shami Bumrah But won't be surprised if the g_ndu TM fields this: Rohit Shaw Pujara Kohli Rahane Jadeja Saha Ashwin Umesh Ishant Bumrah
Lone Wolf Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 Mayank Shaw/Gill (Practice games should decide) Pujara Kohli Rahane Vihari Rahul (wk) ( already doing it in ODIs) Ashwin Saini/Siraj Shami Bumrah It's a D/N test so it'll be better to give our batting some extra cushion. Rahul can do wicket keeping. He did that in SL tour in 2015 2nd test & was flawless. Pant looked horrible with the gloves in IPL. Rahul was much better. In Bowling NO umesh Ffs.

cowboysfan Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 just because its a DN game we should not play a extra fast bowler.
Real McCoy Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 My XI Mayank Gill ( he has looked more solid than Shaw or Rahul who have too many brain farts) Pujara Kohli(C) Rahul Vihari Pant(WK) Saini Kuldeep Shami Bumrah Likely XI Shaw, Rahane, Ashwin and Ishant in Gill, Rahul, Saini and Kuldeep out coffee_rules and raki05 1 1

Either he will run through Aussies as variations are tougher to pick under lights or he'll go for plenty. Don't know which Kuldeep will turn up. Either way it'll be a bold call.
