Kaptaan fool should have asked Gill to play more freely and anchor the innings himself.

Why will hd do that? Seniors will never be asked to take risk.

Later we will see Kohli PR gang say we have got no talents coming through. Not one young players looks comfortable in this set up unless he becomes a chancha of VeeRat like Chahal did.

this cameron green will be very very handy on seaming wkts

get the feeling he will just keep getting better. Might end up being good on all pitches.

Why the hell was Mayank dropped instead of the thigh slapper ?

Dropping Mayank has derailed the purpose of developing a decent stand by opener. You can't expect returns without making an investment.

how did Gill play?

Hit a lucky six, few stylish shots, looked at easy on few deliveries while struggled on others. But a good game for him provided he is played regularly. A game int est series or int 20s will only help his confidence.  He is going to score many runs for India. Let him struggle for now. Best Indian young batsman by far.

Don’t listen to others about strike rate. Many are high on t20s right now.

Gill should have plaed at Iyer place and Mayank should have opened with Samson. But it's  India and we are not known for gutsy decision.

More than gutsy decisions, it's become all about VeeRat and his pals. Team interests be damned.

Mayank Gill Iyer Rahul Pandya Kohli could have been the batting order today. But the greatest ever captain and coach duo know better.
