To early to say as most are in 5-6th yr of international, once everyone retires or close to it we ll know ....all u need is 3-4 yrs of peak performances to change it all. 

As of now ill take rashid khan over anyone

155 wickets in 106 matches  31.6 avg while bowling mostly on flat decks. Also won a world cup

 

But the standard isn't that high. With next WC being in India, if Kuldeep/Chahal manage to come back into form and win the WC, they too can contend

Rashid Khan has taken the crown from Imran Tahir, who knows could be a GOAT contender by the time he is done . Adil Rashid second, very underrated in this format, does well on some of the flattest pitches imaginable. Shakib 3rd best, avg 30, ER 4.48 in this era is outstanding, and he has very little support from the other end, truly this generation's Kapil Dev. 

 

For Kulcha to be in contention first they must stop getting outbowled by Zampa, Santner, Sodhi every single match. Right now their career accomplishments in this format are much below their predecessors whose stats don't tell the complete picture, Kumble/Chucky/Ashwin were rendered ineffective after 5-6 years and playing all formats. These two lost their novelty after what 15 months? For all the hype, the filth they dished out in 2019 WC was there for all to see, somehow forgotten. And no sign of improvement, look at Chahal in this ODI series.....

Stats of Kulcha misleading just like stats of our top 3. Those numbers won't amount to anything significant, just make them look better than they actually are.

For that to happen first we must acknowledge that we have a problem. Simply pretending that our spinners are flawless (just like our batting against spin, another myth) won't cut it. Need more competition for their spots and a few raps on their knuckles. Kuly hasn't been treated all that well, but I am sure him being out of the team will help him come back a better bowler. Chahal however seems to be the number one pick in the XI which frankly makes no sense.

Not all are world class, some may never play for India, all that is fine. But look at the number of options, the depth in the field. I doubt any other country has these many candidates. What it should ideally result in is healthy competition for 3-4 spots in the squad, all of them will have to be on their toes and keep performing/improving lest they get replaced. Must push each one of them to become their best versions. That is somehow not happening, no accountability. Chahal after consistent failures for 1.5 years can escape with 180/1 in 2 matches  with no fear of getting dropped, captain praises him, no questions asked, how will he improve? At least to make up lost ground he can improve his fielding, batting (something Jaddu has done), attitude, has he? When he is out there to bat he makes a mockery of the game, in a losing situation starts pointing his bat at the dressing room, mock celebrations after a boundary, is this all a joke to him? Thakur may have several faults but when he was batting in the 3rd T20I in a hopeless match situation at least he gave a damn, you could see that he was genuinely hurting when he mishit a ball with 18 required in 3 balls.

There is No great spinner in this generation, that's the sad truth, spinner from the current generation can't spin the ball or doesn't want to spin the ball due to small boundary and fielding restrictions. There is no out n our Turner like warne or Murali. Kuldeep was on his way to become a modern day great but modern day batters have shown that there is no place for a classical spinner in today's white ball cricket. From now on we ll see spinners like Zampa, Chahal, Sodhi, Chakravarty, who are not big Turner's of the ball but make subtle variations in pace, spin and trajectory etc their googly turns more than the regular leggie. Ashwin was the last proper spinner from the classical clan and even he has been sidelined due to dip in form and performance.

It's not their fault. Spinners have been rendered ineffective by two new balls.

Yes part that and Part that its a dying art...There are no great turners in Test Cricket either who could give it a real rip, Kuldeep is the only torch bearer of the term "spin" on the cricket ball, Yasir Shah is there but he's an old wolf on last leg.

The best spinners of all-time in ODIs are Muttiah Muralitharan, Shane Warne and Saqlain Mushtaq. Imran Tahir is probably 4th but who else aside? I don't think there are many to look up to.

Adil Rashid won a world cup but what was his contribution in it? 

Piyush Chawla is also a world cup winner, lol. 

Kuldeep will end up as the best. 

Actually Chahal was the best bowler in that world cup, dunno why people overrate English players, the last time they produced an atg cricketer was in 1980s.

There were hardly any great turners even in the past. People have been spoilt by Warne and chucker Murli. One more thing, captains these days prefer control over big turning spinners.

You are wrong, apart from Murali & Warne, some spinners who could really give it a rip were, Stuart Macgill, Brad Hodge, Danish Kaneria, Monty Panesar, Graeme Swann, Saqlain Mushtaq, Mushtaq Ahmed, an earlier era Indian spin trio of Bedi, Prasanna, Venkat, Qadir from Pak, also Daniel Vettori, Paul Adams to name a few. Heck even Virender Sehwag turned the ball more than the spinners from today. Two new balls and batsman friendly conditions have just ensured that there is no incentive left for the bowlers to pursue this beautiful art of spin bowling. But with Kuldeep I still have some hope left.
