Lone Wolf Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 Holder - "I still don't understand a situation where we're just having home umpires. If players are making the sacrifice and going on the road and continuing cricket then I feel as though the umpires should do the same," Holder said. "Even if it's a case where you get a home and an opposing umpire to do a Test match then I think that's fair. "The umpiring in the Test series, I can't really say it's been horrible. Obviously, in any Test series, you get decisions that you would always question, but the umpires put up their hands and did a reasonable job." Bhoot 1
Bhoot Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 Holder needs to stfu. WI will lose even if they play 3 innings in a test. Pathetic team. Serpico, sriniwu, Indwin and 1 other 1 1 2

In the T20 series WI got a pretty rough deal I think. Even in England tour reviews more often than not saved them as home Umpire were heavily biased. He raised a fair point I think. However WI should not be looking for excuses as it feel like that. They have a trash test team and I don't see many of them accepting that. Lone Wolf 1
coffee_rules Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 Let’s see how many of us will say the same after B-G trophy

I would be saying this even if I wasn't a mod - you should really take a breath and try to calm down a bit. There is simply no need to take a negative tone and a nasty vibe so often. Its not good for you either. Jason Holder is a highly respected cricketer, in and beyond the west indies. For a number of good reasons. He's a very classy guy with a long track record in the spotlight. He has made his point in a reasonably diplomatic way. Regarding your point about the Windies test team, its not really a reflection on Holder, who is a top 5 test allrounder if not higher. If he were playing for an ANUS team or India, he'd be a superstar. Lone Wolf and Cricketics 2

Pathetic team. what does team strength has to do with raising this point? In case you forgot India also got thrased in Nz earlier this year, would you say the same thing if an Indian player raise this issue? 7 hours ago, Bhoot said: However WI should not be looking for excuses as it feel like that. When the WTC started he said that they know they have little chance of making it to finals, and will try to get some wins and a mid table place. sandeep, Norman and maniac 3
SK_IH Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 WI talking about umpiring in NZ, back to 1980 lol. Need an insight from Michael Holding on this issue. sandeep 1
ShoonyaSifar Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 The cost of teams with 30-35 players and support staff being in a bio secure bubble from their home base to a tour destination can still be justified. How would you justify it for a single individual - isolation of 10-12 days in home country, chartered flights, 14 day quarantine at tour destination. That's too much effort and could be more than the cost of umpires in a series. With DRS in place, maybe ICC could consider giving 3 or even 4 reviews per innings to make up for the deficiency of not having neutral umpires.
Gollum Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 Holder is 100% right, didn't follow this series but Eng-WI series was a farce. I think in one of the days in T1 WI had 6-7 successful overturned referrals, 3 of them featuring the same player. Even Sky commies were aghast.
Gollum Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 Need neutral umps, more than half the test playing countries have garbage umpires. Only Aus and Eng (lesser extent) have quality and depth. Austin 3:!6 Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 Our home umpires are an embarrassment. I dont think its bias as India is easily winning this test match and need not cheat. But it is incompetency since the third umpire dont even know the rules. BCCI with all its money cant train and prepare better umpires?Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk putrevus 1
chewy Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 Shambolic umpiring Yesterday's Not Out given when ball clearly hit glove and umpiring not checking after bat edge check - and even Indian commies was initially busy defending the incompetent third umpire. And today's shot played when clearly no shot offered Was utterly embarrassing and incompetent umpiring..no excuses third umpire has to be suspended after this Test At least in Australia the Aussie commies were critical.of any rubbish decisions - here pussy India commies just keep quite Indwin 1
