He is not here to model. Yes he has a hair loss problem. He has been horrible with the bat and fielding and over all fitness.

He is what 21?

We can’t control the social media trolling but c’mon guys as educated cricket fans  at least leave the kid alone when it comes to non-cricketing issues. He is where he is after all the sacrifices him and his dad made.

Absolutely agree.  We can all agree that, right now, he does not belong in the Indian team.  Not until he sorts out a few things.

But the "hero or zero," no-middle-ground mentality is uncalled for.  If anything, he needs proper coaching from someone other than his dad; someone to shake him up and correct his flaws.  Like people are suggesting, a county stint would do him some good.  For the good of Indian cricket, hope he turns into the superstar  we all think he should.

I think he’s copping up for all the misdeeds of TM Shastri... Shastri backed him and compared him with 3 legends of cricket (no harm in it but creates immense pressure on the player). Shaw hasn’t helped his case in anyway, in any department and in all matches he’s played on tour so far.

The guy certainly has some issues, else which young player will cut corners and use pills to shed his weights and get banned in such a young age? He should actually be thanking his stars for still playing for India. There are many other talented players who are waiting in the wings...

So we can’t even criticize his game and how bad his technique is? How he leaves a big gap where even elephants can camp? Yes, he should not be personally trolled but there are many other candidates who want his opportunity. International cricket is not a place to learn. He can come back to first class cricket and correct his technique, score runs and go back.

That’s fine I am talking about calling him a grandpa etc or other mean jokes. Obviously he has been called out for his pathetic fitness and fielding and now even his batting technique. I think for a youngster going through a tough patch even personally going by his appearance, I don’t think we should pick on that, I am seeing a lot of bullying comments about his looks. That is not acceptable.

I can't but help think that some of the same stuff happened with Vinod Kambli.  Inevitably being compared to the great SRT, people yapping about his "upbringing" simply because he more expressive compared to his "polished" partner etc. etc.  Instead, if he could have been provided positive mentorship, he may have figured it out and gone on to be a better player.

I won’t bully anyone personally except lord lolli because he deserves to be.

No one is being bullied including Kohli as they simply do not read comments here (or care)

shaw doesn’t read ICF but I am sure he knows what’s happening on social media. As I said we can’t control  that but people on this forum are educated cricket fans who can look beyond petty things like bald head and other physical problems. We can start from our end at least if we can’t fix the world.

Brother, although I get the point you are trying to make but trust me, some random internet users (like me and you) posting on an cricket related forum cannot be termed as bullying. People have called many other worse names/ terms to players when not performing. Although racist comments I can understand, but it is all in zest.

If Shaw goes on to make a 100 at MCG many of us will be happy to see the youngster succeed. That is what expected of an average cricket fan. Trust me, nobody has any personal grudge or enmity with any player. But if we cannot express our emotions on an informal internet forum, the purpose of ICF is defeated.

My personal views. We can agree to disagree.

Understood @maniac but can we at least make fun of Rohit's paunch?

the more millions a person has and more accomplishments you can vary the bullying. That’s obviously for individual to decide the threshold :)

But the media definitely bullies young cricketers like Shaw and Pant. Look at this headline from today. Imagine what a young player goes through

That's so true even crapinfo more than criticizing aus performance and louding Indian bowlers . Their headline was Shaw got bowled out in second inning or smth like that.
