Looks like Pant has shed his weight

Hope he gets a continuous run in test cricket now. Even if fails in these 3 tests, give him all 9 tests against Eng, home series vs NZ. Special talents must be given a free run now, brand of cricket must change.

wtf sure just make him captain for next 20 years because he is a "special talent" in your eyes.

In tests he is, there is no comparison between him and next line of wicketkeeping options. In ODIs/T20s you have KL, Ishan, Sanju, who is there in test cricket?

Good if he is working on his fitness... I think that held him back in this year's IPL as well.. If he continues to build on it, no reason he can't be India's first choice WK for the next decade.

You can fault MSD for many things but the man had impeccable fitness throughout his career.

He is asking to give him an extended run similar to Rohit Sharma. Nothing wrong with that.

:whack: Rohit sharma a guy who made an Impact right away in Big ICC event in his first match he got to bat ? Are you seriously comparing him to that guy ? Poor guy has no exp that time or even IPL

Sharma jee is the REAL TALENT

And pant made big impact by scoring 100s on his very flrst tour to England and australis. For context, dhoni has none in either countries, laxman has 0 in England in his entire caeer ,dravid has 1 in aus in his entie career, sehwag has 1 in england in his entire career

Scoring 100 in england and 150 in Aus is very first test series is way bigger than anything you can do in LOIs

How is Rishab pant not real talent in test matches? Forget about his semi final failure and T20I failure, stick to the relevant format here.

After 13 matches,, Virat Kohli made 768 runs @ 36.5.. (6 out 0f 13 matches at home). Pant has made 810 runs @ 38.7.. (2 out of 13 matches at home).

Among those 13 matches, Virat made 300 runs in his first Aussie tour with one 100.. Pant has made 350 runs in his first Aussie tour with one 100. Forget about his wicket keeping, purely on batting alone Pant is a genuine talent in test matches. To drop him for failure in last two test matches, (when every other batter also failed in them) is criminal

Did well in the SF sans time in middle in group stage.

Top 3 scored 3 runs

3/5, 4/24 and then he scored 32, stayed in the middle for 20 overs and had a decent partnership with Pandya.

Had team invested in him, given him 30-40 ODIs before the WC who knows we could have played the hosts in the final.

Agree with rest of your post.

I am a teacher.  This semester, I showed up to class every day and completed the syllabus.  Where are my kudos?

Point?  Staying fit is the bare minimum that a prime-time athlete is expected to do.

Disclaimer:  My advance apologies if he was hurt in some way and couldn't work out as much.

I doubt putting on weight should be problem, He is keeper, As far as his reflexes are good-TM should be fine with him. Chewtya TM, Ek match jeeti nahi jaa rahi, full on Bakchod reasons se players ko out kar dete hain.

I agree that he should be given long run to assure his place in the team but What's the use of "special talent" if the "talent" is only in paper?

Once again,   how is scoring 100s on his first tours of England and Australia on "paper". How can anyone take your post seriously after you say this?
